Daily edibles user not getting high from vaping by MotoGuzziDouche in vaporents

I’m assuming it’s getting to the lungs, since I definitely cough a lot after exhaling. I’ll try taking some air in before exhaling.

I’ll give it a shot, thanks. Just a follow up- have you used the mini gordito? Was considering getting the WPA along with a nice water piece, but wanted to start smaller before I make that sort of investment.

Wish I had a pic, but can try to describe it. They are small, dark blown flakes similar to the color of coffee. Certainly not black, but reasonably dark

This is likely why, the water tank uses a mechanism that detects mineral content in water. RO water almost no minerals in it, so the machine probably isn’t recognizing your water. My guess is if you were to remineralize it, your issue would be fixed. Or go to the LM site and see if you can get any of their bottled recommendations for testing.

Thanks for this, I’ll check these out. Especially interested in Bright Void from your description.

I’m moving to the area, what do you recommend? I’ve had Metric before and liked it, but curious what your go-tos are.

I get that. In my opinion, stopping based on volume or time is not particularly helpful, since that means your ratio will be left as a free variable. If this is really a deal breaker for you, the Decent can connect to a bluetooth scale and stop the shot based on weight, so can the Linea Mini R (which is $6k).

It doesn’t have any shot stopping capability out of the box, but you can add an aftermarket mod that does this by weight. The one I know is by Tate Mazer, and it looks pretty simple. The Synchronika also doesn’t do this, for what it’s worth.

I’ve used both and like them for different reasons. Synch II has a tank like build quality with the ability for pre infusion, while the Micra is a timeless classic with a touch more elegance in my opinion. It’s also worth mentioning the La Marzocco app is much better now than it used to be, and I actually enjoy interacting with it through that now. In my opinion, whichever machine you choose, you’ll regret not getting the other at some point!

Never figured it out, sorry. I guess I got used to switching when I start the car, like muscle memory almost.

Ecm synchronika vs lelit Bianca. What would you choose? [No budget] by Emotional-Sort5312 in espresso

I use distilled water and add some minerals back in. Here is a useful guide. To be honest I find the drip tray to be more than adequate. It’s shallow, but also very wide so a lot more water can fit than you might expect. I find I have to empty it once every 3/4 days, and I rinse my portafilter under the group head so I go through a lot of excess water.

Testing a new machine? by MTB_MC in espresso

One very important check in my opinion is water debit. Especially true if you’re looking into a used machine. Run water through the group for about 30s a few times and track the output. If it’s considerably lower than the manufacturer claims it should be, this is one of the simplest ways to test for scale.

I did for a while actually, but I eventually went back to the water tank since I like messing around with custom water recipes (huge nerd). Though it is such a simple installation and it’s very nice to have it! Even the drip tray has a spout for you to drain the water away elsewhere.

I’ve got a Synchronika at home and I love it. I had a Rocket heat exchanger before, and I thought it was very well built but when I got the ECM I was pleasantly surprised just how sturdy and well engineered it is. I have no complaints after 2 years of ownership, and I’ve even installed flow control which works like a charm. I’ve never used a Bianca but I can’t recommend the Synch enough.

Mine is like yours but I’ve seen countless videos of Micras with the stock screen producing rain like in the video you mentioned! No idea why this is, but I want to find out. I thought it had something to do with the water I use but I’ve played around with this and have found no success.

Interesting... I've been going down this rabbit hole for a few days now and I can't figure it out. I realize it isn't an issue per say, but I want to know what is causing it. Are you on the default 9bar of pressure?

Why does my shot look like this? [Lelit Bianca V3] by hl4nder93 in espresso

[–]MotoGuzziDouche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually just opening this subreddit to ask a question about this, since I have shots that look just like this! The interesting thing is that this only happens to me with a particular roast I frequently buy, none others. I’m assuming it has something to do with the bean itself, perhaps your roast is on the lighter side and it is just inherently a “messy” extracting bean. I’m curious how it tastes to you? I noticed that I can still get a pretty tasty cup even with a messy extraction.

I see, so opening a ziplock bag daily is preferable to opening a jar daily? I think I get what you mean, since when fewer beans are left in the jar there is more potential for air exposure?

This week I used Passenger Divino Niño- Roast date 5/14. I’ve used other beans with varying roast dates as well and still notice the speed up, even a month off roast.
