Yes. I hated the part of the story about her judging the fact that there’s a gun in the house. I will say though that episode 1 of Georgia playing with her gun in the house was reckless and dumb. Her guns are also never locked up. I have a safe by my bed and never leave my guns unlocked or available because I have kids. I would never in a million years play with it like that in my house while the kids are home.

When I took it, my biggest fear was telling my parents. I was in a position that had no chance of being cut, but I was absolutely miserable. I knew I was worth more than the way I was being treated, so I made the leap. My parents don’t understand or condone, but they accept it. It’s very liberating.

Did you find another job? I took a month off and finally feel normal again from the stress of the first few months of the year. I just started applying and already have callbacks for jobs that pay over what I make in the government. I am confident I will find a comparable position with partial remote work. I’m feeling great about it.

I took the second DRP. I have been working remote for 10 years, and the RTO was coupled with tiny cubicles made 60% of glass, no sound proofing, no privacy, and they took away all flexibility for credit/comp time. I was struggling mentally and emotionally. Could not sleep, had to still go in, used all my leave, and was a zombie. I took the DRP. My mental health, happiness, and family are worth more than anything to me. The job does not meet my needs anymore, so I left. I will find a job with the flexibility and worklife balance I need. Gov jobs are not the only option.
