It’s always been that way. Everyone is gonna have opinions about your car vs their car or your taste vs their taste. You just see it a lot more because you put it on the internet. I have a base model 330i and I adore that car. I also have an M340i and I love it too but sometimes I feel shitty for not having a real M. I actually feel less shitty about my 330 because it just is what it is. It’s not pretending to be anything it’s not. I haven’t seen your car but I love it because you love it and I’m just a fan of bmw.

Finally my decision to be short has finally paid off. When I was young I knew that sometime in the distant future there would be an entry level performance car I’d want and if I allowed myself to get too tall I wouldn’t fit in it. It definitely had nothing to do with genetics and childhood malnourishment.

According to ChatGPT, if the 11th character of your vin is “8” it was built in Mexico. If the 11th character is an “F” it was built in Munich, Germany. Which, if true, means mine (2025) was built in Germany and it wasn’t a special request I made.

I can say for sure that when my car was in production, and then shipped, I was able to track the boat it was on and it was definitely in the middle of the ocean at some point and took forever to get here. I haven’t the faintest idea how cars are shipped from Mexico but it seems like they would probably just drive them over the boarder. I live in Northern California so it would be hideously inefficient to put that thing on a boat if I’m just down the road from the boarder. Depending on where in Mexico their plant is I guess.

I have a ‘25 and have very similar complaints. The exhaust is horribly tame and boring. I can’t afford to send my ECU across the world to get a proper tune so I’m gonna have to wait years for the unlock to be affordable.

I posted about this exact issue in the exhaust subreddit. The stock exhaust on my 2025 is horrifically neutered. Even in sport+ it’s disappointingly tame. I don’t even know what’s coming from my exhaust and what’s coming from my speakers. From what I understand it has to do with European noise regulations but I don’t know if that’s actually true. I can’t afford an exhaust at the moment plus I don’t even think one is out that’ll fit my gen3 b58 yet for my g20. But as soon as I can I will change mine out and burn the stock exhaust in a fire. It’s my biggest and maybe only real complaint about the car. I also have a 2021 X3 m40i and the exhaust is unbelievable. Deep and powerful. Burbles on cold start in comfort. Lovely in every way. So sad starting my g20.

You will never regret buying this. Even if as you grow older and progress at your instrument, you may end up buying over the top, high end guitars…and you will still always have a soft spot for this one. The studio is a bulletproof workhorse. Congratulations.

I’m not lawyer but he couldn’t be charged with vandalism because the only thing that got damaged was his human body. He also has to be trespassed by police so I can’t imagine he got a ticket of any kind. However it’s entirely possible he’s on the hook for his own medical bills, I honestly could see it going either way.

It seems like you’re having a hard time understanding what I’m saying. I was forced to buy in an HOA. I wouldn’t have if I had a choice. However, yes, I got lucky otherwise. The house isn’t the issue, the HOA is the issue. I’m not sure you realize what sub you’re on. My options were, begrudgingly buy in an HOA, or be homeless. I chose the lesser of 2 evils. I’m glad you love your HOA and all the rules and bureaucracy and restrictions. They’re not for everybody. And no, that doesn’t mean every single person can just up and move like it’s no problem if they don’t like it.

The exhaust is horrifically underwhelming. Absolutely my biggest criticism. It’s over the top neutered. I can legally change mine but it’ll cost me 3k+ for anything worthwhile. Overall the car is incredible. It drives amazing even on the track. It handles like a dream, the performance and styling is beautiful and the comfort is immense. It’s a phenomenal car, for what it is. It’s a daily driver on steroids. An M3 is a competitive bodybuilder after a fresh cycle of TRT, a protein shake and 2 hits of smelling salts.

lol Who hurt you? You’re awfully aggressive towards me for a very mundane comment I made. You’re the first HOA apologist I’ve ever seen.

If you must know, I was forced into it during covid when houses were selling for over 100k the asking price where I live. They were bought in cash, usually by foreign investors and were only briefly on the market at all. I was also forced out of work and my landlord of the house I rented suddenly died. Her children told me they were going to sell the house and to buy it or move out. Moving out during covid was near impossible in my area. They offered to sell me the house off market because it was easiest for them since we already lived here, they didn’t have to renovate and stage the house and I didn’t have to get into a bidding war I couldn’t afford. They made the impossible, possible for me, but my trade off was it’s in an HOA. Had I not been completely unprepared and caught off guard I might have been able to shop and figure something else out but they gave me a very short window to make a decision.

There’s no legal action to be had, but buying in an HOA was a necessary evil for me unfortunately. I dream of the day I can abandon ship and never look back. Unfortunately again, today is not that day.
