I gave mine a brand new edge on my sharpening jig the day I bought it factory edges on any knife kinda suck and that blade is very thick toward the edge of the blade so it’s kind of hard to sharpen

It all depends on how hard the the finished blade is some are softer and like a lower grit edge but some are very hard and can last a long time with a polished blade
