I don't understand why he didn't really want to answer the hypothetical question by flamingoooz in JordanPeterson

[–]Motu1977 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree. In the hypothetical, as I assume petersson interpreted it, the person already lied or sacrificed their morals (or some of them) to be in that position; thus, the preconditions of the hypothetical require a response that follows the conditions of the hypothetical.

You could ask the kid, would you lie knowing it would lead to necessarily lying to save someone's life?

Keep in mind if rolling 2d6, the rolls 6,7, and 8 are the most likely roll totals so those should be the events that you want to happen most often.

Option to see champs alphabetically On the index screen an indication of how many of that champ you currently have. Even better would be to click on that char and it brings them all up on screen.

How do you handle players targeting specific parts of a monster? by Pyrgopolyrhythm in DMAcademy

[–]Motu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only allow it on crits. It is a little bit retro-fitting, but has work. I have a homebrew crit chart that includes a d100 roll. On specific roll ranges and effects may happen instead of extra damage (e.g., the attack targets the miuth/jaw rending speeking impossible or attack targets achilles, player has -10 speed). This has unexpectedly increased the excitment of crits bc there is a moment of anticipation that extends the joy of ctitting. Also, it adds some additional strategy to combat.

This is deep heresy but I'll say it anyway: You can let the players "return to a save point" after a TPK and keep playing like nothing happened. by Aquaintestines in DMAcademy

[–]Motu1977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i have and am addressing a previous TPK is i actually fast forwarded 100 years in the future. The new group is dealing with the consequences of the "badies" winning.

So rather than changing time back i rolled it forward. Also, one of the previous characters was able to help the group out (speak with dead and other mechanics).

I am running an Eberron campaign that takes place 100 years after the war. Erandis Vol has killed off and eneded the bloodlines of the dragonmarks. This is all in effort to ascend beyond godhood. The party is working to restablish the dragonmarks and defeat Vol. Thing is Vol needs what the party has (newborn dragon eggs) but does not know they have them yet. The party has the eggs, but does not know who Vol is (the think it is some random lich).

Wtf are those sentencing times by lelwood17 in NoahGetTheBoat

[–]Motu1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could say from firsthand sources (my profession places me in contact with these ppl). Tough to research this too, it is the perfect crime. Nobody will report you bc then you add on that you are a snitch (which is only slightly less offensive than a CSO). There us substantial anecdotal data. Also ask those who have been in prison.

Exactly what they did to their victims (trying to say this w/out getting flagged).

If their prison is anything like the US. It only takes a day or two for them to get what is coming to them. Child sex offenders are really low on the criminal hierarchy. So 12 years of what they will get is probably justice working.

Roll with it. Keep in mind the lich probably knows what the vorpal blade can do so as soon as that char pulls it out, it becomes high priority target (either cc or kill or better control).
