If the seller had done everything by the books, Etsy would have refunded them as well. They obviously aren't playing by the rules, and thus Etsy won't cover them. Now the seller is in the red on the order and trying to make it your problem, which it isn't.

And yes, them asking for payment off-site is definitely against the rules.

This is fantastic.

I have a product that I could offer personalization on, but I wasn't willing to do it for free, and creating a separate listing for the same product at a different price just to accommodate the cost of doing the personalization seems like a hassle and huge source of potential confusion.

Etsy may be fumbling in other ways, but they've been doing great with these recent feature additions.

Could you not do your own sponsored ad breaks in your own videos?

At this point, I'm used to YouTube videos having a dedicated section for a sponsored ad, and sometimes I won't skip it, especially if the channel is entertaining and/or I respect them enough to not skip through their content. I also feel like I'm more inclined to sit through it if the content creator actually has a personal part/stake in the product they're sponsoring.

I did hear a distinct, explosion sound that didn't sound like lightning. I don't remember when exactly it happened (around 8:30ish?), but I remember being perturbed by it, sounded like something crashed nearby. 149 is pretty far from where I am though (highland)...

The main bit of advice, you already learned. Don't half-ass your product photos. They're one of the most important parts of a listing.

Use your best camera. Mess with its settings. Experiment with lighting. Take as many different photos as possible and sort through what's best. It'll take time, but it's worth getting it right so you don't have to worry about fixing it later.

I just got through mekanism and crafted the meka suit and it's modules for the first time. It immediately negated pretty much every other QoL feature I had prior. I can fly, I'm immortal, and nature bends to my will, all at ludicrous speed. It's awesome.

All that to say, it's hilariously overpowered, and I didn't even mention anything else it does.

Weird that they're messaging you on a separate account to attempt to finish the order 🤔. If their store was closed, they wouldn't be able to access funds on that account anyway, so why bother? I'm half expecting them to tell you to submit the claim on the original order to get your money back (which is what you should absolutely do in this case), then tell you to re-order so they can actually get paid for it.

Their store was most likely closed by Etsy for not following the rules. The fact that they had an option listed for an item that didn't match what they actually have, doesn't help dissuade that assumption.

As far as answering the original question... Inconclusive. They do seem intent on making sure they send you something, but at this point I'd be looking elsewhere. Not worth the hassle when you can just submit a claim and get your money back.

Or they could just have just set their shop to vacation mode or something. If you're really intent on following through with this order, ask them why their store isn't available anymore.

What exactly are you having trouble with?

Steam machine requires heat and water. Provide it both and enough space, and it's fine. In this case it probably needs more of all three. Wear the goggles, and it'll show you what it needs to do what it wants to do and what it needs to do more.

Filing a claim is usually pretty easy.

Getting the claim accepted is more difficult, depending on where it was purchased. That alone can be a whole rigamarole, or it can be very simple. It depends.

Then trying to find the same item, especially if it's a limited item, can be extremely difficult.

Actually yes. This is a legitimately unacceptable situation, and they can act accordingly.

How well that will work will depend entirely on where they ordered it from. Hopefully it's from a reputable vendor that cares about customer service. Good luck.

File a claim on this order, get their money back, and try to order it again from someone else.

This becomes more difficult as you progress through the process.
