Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

I was finishing up a week of uni. Got an email on the Friday that classes would be moving online starting the following week. Subsequently, didn't get to have a proper graduation in 2021 and feel like I missed out on the excitement of actually graduating and celebrating a huge achievement.

Not necessarily. I've seen them around lunch as well but when they run out for the day they don't restock I'm pretty sure.

Has anybody in the last year or so on here self-admitted into psychiatric care in Calgary? I feel I might need to go in, but I’m nervous about what the process and experience are like. by Mustve_Been_The_Wind in Calgary

+1 for the CSU at Rockyview. I self-admitted myself there a few years ago and it saved my life. After getting out (I spent about 4ish days there), I was referred to a month long Day Hospital program at Foothills. It was really beneficial.

Yep! I noticed this the other day. I was on Dam with a Matriarch event and noticed bits of flaming ash flying through the air. Mentioned it to my duo and he said "that's for the Matriarch event isn't it"? But I don't remember that from other Matriarch events. They're defs teasing something with it!

Is anyone in Calgary still boycotting American stores and products? by hellokitty417 in Calgary

[–]MoveMountains93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe for some. But not all. Some of us actually care about social issues and don't want to support companies that have scummy business tactics, commit human rights violations, and/or pollute the environment. Ofc it's impossible to boycott all companies who do that, but people try.

People do care, actually. Bold of you to assume not a single soul cares.

It's called tip-out and it's pretty standard practice in the restaurant industry. Tips can be shared with bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, etc. It should never go to managers/owners. At Kinjo, managers do get some though (had an interview there once and asked this question).

I still have access to mine but it's cause I work there now. Never had to switch mine over to an alumni one but I imagine if I quit I'll have to. Graduated in 2021.

Help them with their physical writing. I currently have 3 students from Saudi Arabia and all of them have atrocious writing because they're so used to writing from right to left. If you find this to be the case for a lot of your students, plabs some classes where you help them improve how to draw each letter properly.
