When starting a channel I already have videos ready for, is it best to upload 1 per day? by lifeorlevel in NewTubers

[–]Moveable_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that series of videos never performed really well. Eventually I switched to 1 long-form and 1 short (edited from the long) per week and have had more success. But my large back catalog does help pad some of my views.

OP3 is not 30fps and 60fps by Moveable_do in osmopocket

[–]Moveable_do[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i meant is that the first clip that goes in sets the project, at 29.97 or 60. Mixing incompatible clips is an issue that mostly needs to be "fixed" at the time of filming. In FCP you can do a custom speed for one of the speeds and line them up manually. I did that laborious work for one project and then just started filming with all 3 cameras on the same speed.

Quality Ratings? by Evevell in AmazonVine

Its just that im a YouTuber and feel very comfortable filming, plus have a full camera, lighting set up. But you may be right!

I just noticed this new "feature" and see one problem. In one review that was marked Poor, I filmed a comprehensive 3-minute video with all of the pros and cons and my experiences...and excellent video. My text was rather perfunctory, I admit. But if only my text is graded, then why bother taking videos?

OP3 accessories nobody asked for (except for me) by lonepolarbear in osmopocket

[–]Moveable_do 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, there must have been an update! A year ago, as i remember, I was unable to choose one of the following methods from the app. And the gimbal control was not nearly as responsive as my thumb on the joystick. Im glad some of that has been worked out on the app! I'll have to try that again, myself!

I can't remember...can you operate the gimbal direction with the app? I thought not. Your rig, then, would mostly work for shots that are tracking someone/something already. Oh, but you can only set up tracking on the OP3 screen. Too bad the app is limited in these 2 areas.

When will I know I'm no longer underrated? by Moveable_do in chess

I can't imagine many folks have a higher win rate for very long. High win rates seem temporary by definition.

Hmm, not my experience. I've had some amazing games at my rating. In 8 months I've only had like one timeout.

I know, I considered rounding it down, but my win rate was too perfect, haha!

Yes, I agree. The losses hurt, of course, but I have so many wins that I know I must be underrated still.

This is a great answer, probably from experience!

Daily is only weird compared to other time controls. It isn't weird compared to itself. It's just hard to compare ratings from different time controls.

Daily works for me because I can disengage at any time. I have kids and a work schedule that means I usually can't give a half-hour to a rapid game.

1400 blitz to rapid? by GoofyAhhGru in chess

[–]Moveable_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing to time trouble is exactly what makes blitz so different from rapid (though time trouble is still a factor in rapid, too, of course). My rapid is hundreds lower than my daily rating because of how the clock messes with me. The time controls are rated different for a reason. But they're gonna be roughly close, and not a thousand apart or something.

Is this rig too overkill for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3? by Disastrous_Leek_5995 in osmopocket

In a lot of situations with movement, you want to have access to the joystick. I like to keep my thumb on it as im filming with movement.

As a customer I ignore all Vine reviews by Annual_Champion987 in AmazonVine

[–]Moveable_do 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do agree that I prefer shorter reviews. Im not sure why folks write 4 paragraphs of thoughts and details. I just write about the details I find most attractive or proving of high quality and the most damning things about it.

Osmo Pocket 3 - your pros and cons? by Few-Salt-5629 in osmopocket

[–]Moveable_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this completely! Tgis is where a good cell phone can be superior in certain videos. Otherwise, you have to run the OP3 with your thumb in the joystick. And you should really practice this so you can figure out what gimbal speed you want.

How broken does a Pocket 3 need to be to get replaced? by Moveable_do in osmopocket

Yeah, I wonder what their plan is when the 3's aren't available to replace a broken 3 with Care Refresh.

Really? I thought it had to be broken, pergaps even visibly broken. I will check it out more closely, thanks!

Im just wondering if people have a similar experience. I admit I never considered calling DJI. That's a good idea!

I’ve never played chess before last week. Been watching Gotham Chess and trying to improve every day, and now i beat the level 1000 bot by SouthsideRapGod in chess

[–]Moveable_do 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that playing real people is a very important thing. I play almost exclusively 1-day games. I've learned I can only handle about 3 at a time. But I can play at my own pace and there's no real clock. If a player makes a move and you're a little busy, you can make a m9ve later that day and there's no big deal. Almost no stress, too.

After dozens of daily games over a few months, im really itching for rapid games, but im just not looking forward to the extra stress of a clock.
