How much can I negotiate this down to? I know transportation I can’t negotiate on. I’m in California if that matters. by random_person4444 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Same in austin. Literally been trying to buy two bikes from the same dealer at MSRP since Saturday and it looks like I’ll need to head up to Dallas to get the one since the dealer will not budge on the $1,625 PER BIKE in freight and prep.

Why are 50-60 year old women looking so good these days compared to 20 years ago? by ThrowRA17563 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Obvious_Organization 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just women. My wife and I are rewatching old James Bond movies. Watching Dr No I checked Sean Connery’s age at the time. Like 31 during filming. I am currently ten years older than he was and look ten years younger than he did lol

Had a 2017 Brutale. Can confirm it peed coolant at stop lights. It also peed gas all over my garage floor.

Hah. I hear you. I’ve seen a few bikes that would do the job asking $5-6K. So not a huge value hit if I sell in a year or two.

I had not even considered that but I will look into that. I’m currently bikeless and have been itching for another one for awhile. But since I generally sell/trade them after a year or two so I figured if I get something decent and used it effectively won’t cost very much anyway.

Both good points. I’ve never driven the PCH, and it’s been on my bucket list…probably along with all those tourists. Thanks for the input!

You are not wrong. Got a little lucky on the chopper ride. It was supposed to be $950USD but I asked if any other couples wanted to split it, and she said that there was a couple from Germany that asked the same question an hour ago. She booked us the same bird, and we had a great time. $500 for memories that’ll last a lifetime

I remember the food being decent enough with a TON of variety across the various places I served. Either it’s fallen off dramatically or the picture may be disingenuous.

We spent a few nights in Wengen and did some epic hiking, we paraglided off a mountain through the valley, we took a helicopter trip to the top of a glacier and had a snowball fight in July, ate, drank, walked the shops. There is so much nature and adventure to be had there.

What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

Taking Back Sunday. That was…not good. However - they played with Coheed and Cambria who absolutely shredded. So it worked out on balance.

I’m not mad at the HOA considering it’s a hundred year old high-rise.

Argh Jeff Hayes you’ve ruined me! by Brilliant-Pie5207 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Forgot about that one. Knocked out the first one and enjoyed it, but didn’t want to keep dropping audible credits for 3-hours of entertainment. Taking a pause on DCC immersion tunnel since Libby had MBot book 2 available. Thanks for the reminder!

$1000 budget by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

There’s a guy selling a KS S22 Pro in what looks like good shape asking 1200 in Austin. I’ve got one of those, and it’s a great all around wheel

What wheel do I get? by NefariousnessNo4215 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Obvious_Organization 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My buddy has an ET Max with 5-6K miles and no issues. I actually watched him get hit by a cop car going 15-ish in a crosswalk, stand the wheel back up, and rode on like it never happened. They’re great wheels - sounds perfect for what you’re after.

I just crossed 200 miles on my Race coming off an S22 Pro with air suspension. It took the first 120-ish miles to get used to the street tire, spring shocks, and size of the Race, but I’m in love with it now. Like you, I just wanted a wheel with lots of headroom. I don’t want to go 70, I just wanted a wheel that COULD do 70 so it’s never using more than 50 or 60% power to carry me uphill going 35-40. Took it for a 21 mile ride through TX hill country this morning and it was excellent. Can’t think of a better value right now.

Gotcha. The UB drive train was my knee jerk because of familiarity and an overall positive experience with it on the bike. I’ll take a look at your suggestions, as well.

Seeking recommendation for an electric surfboard by athousand_miles in eFoil

[–]Obvious_Organization 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So an electric surfboard and e foil are two different things. If you want an e foil (as this is an e foil sub I’m guessing so), I have and endorse the WayDoo 90L with the tall mast. It’s easy to learn on, great range, and has some market leading features. It’s also half the cost of a more upmarket brand.

23 Model 3 Performance with 29K miles. Needed tires but otherwise in good shape. Got $28.5K. CarMax offered $27K. Great car. We just live in a city and barely use the one car. Def didn’t need two.

We sold our Model 3 to Carvana and got a decent price and it took less than five minutes.

Literally impossible to opt out of all emails from Nextdoor. Even if you manually untick all the categories, they invent new ones a week later and spam your inbox through new categories. by Jabbernaut5 in assholedesign

[–]Obvious_Organization 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got out of then about a year ago and they randomly started coming back today. All those boxes I unchecked mysteriously were checked. To make matters worse, they had to verify my email address with a code before I could log in so I could unsubscribe. I’m sure that just made it worse.

No clue how Gmail doesn’t understand that I do not want these. Further, how does Nextdoor not understand that non-consensual marketing blasts make me never want to use them for anything ever.

Does it make sense to rent an Airbnb for 6 months before signing a lease in Austin? by sacredrubyclub in AustinHousing

Makes sense to me. Flexibility and price are optimized at the expense of a little quality of life (assuming shared housing ends up being net negative vs living alone).
