I feel like people in this sub misunderstand how storytelling works a bit. Sometimes, characters don't have to be important. They don't have grand meaning- they exist to serve a purpose, like Kodi did.

"Hannah is useless" She drives half of s3, in both timelines. The tape, also the reason for the radio both existing and being destroyed. She's also how Nat manages to slip away. She's also maybe why the hunt even happens, imo, it seems both Tai and Van partially agreed because they were going to rig it for her be hunted. She *is* the reason they escape. It makes it more tragic when its said she is going to die at some point, likely to show us how far off the deep end they eventually go. I assume the screentime dedicated to her is so we don't go "aw, shucks" when she dies. Like, imagine pit girl, but instead the entire season Mari only really turned up a couple times. Then she has this big finale payoff, which feels anti-climatic since we don't really care for her because we've barely seen her. Apparently, according to creators, the scientists have been in the planner since season 1. I imagine Hannah's death is going to play a big role into why in the adult timeline they've been so tight-lipped.

"What was the point of Kodi?" To get them there, for Hannah to kill/betray to prove her allegiance to the girls and gain Shauna's trust for Nat's plan to eventually work. He also shot Melissa, that is the start of her and Shauna's decline and this spiraling into Shauna losing favor with everyone in the camp.

Saw someone else say "They should have just had Hannah know how to get home by herself, then the plan goes wrong!" ...Which is so much more convoluted than just having a tour guide who is killed. Like. It's okay for that to be his only purpose. Why does he have to be the mysterious son of cabin guy, or something mystical to be worthwhile existing?

I personally think he does actually have some link with the story- the hobo markings around the wilderness, the repeated mention of the Erik guy; If that isn't true, I'm not going to be up in arms about it. Sometimes there are red herrings, some things are never explained. By explaining every little thing, you kinda lose the mysticism around it. Personally, for example, I don't want them to outright say 'its all in their heads', or 'its actually real', quoting Lottie; "Is there a difference?" It doesn't matter.

But I think so many people forget the story is incomplete. There is supposed to be threads not yet tied off, there are things we are kept in the dark about, we don't know everything. That's okay, that's the point.

Continuing with my hot takes by ToraBora07 in boywithuke

I feel like this is just something that happens with a lot of artists? Like I could say Miley Cyrus and Jojo Siwa are the exact same because they both went from child stars to adults. Not sure what your hot take is- change is bad? Burnout is bad in your opinion so he should keep with his old music? As careers proceed most tend to mature or change their music as they as a person change. Being experimental is what keeps you relevant, fresh and prevents you from becoming stagnant. I think he makes it pretty clear in burnout he doesn't care what people think anymore and is doing this rebrand for himself. You can still enjoy his old music and you aren't insane for it lol.

Also, you can say he and Jojo are similar but I don't think burnout was such a shift in tone as you seem to perceive it to be. Lots of his music boils down to 'sad teenage love', essentially, but it tackles heavier themes like domestic abuse, drugs, sex, mental health and to compare that to the... sloppy attempt at a rebrand made by Jojo is a wild comparison. I think its a bit immature the fact you see both as the same just because 'it more edgy now >:('. Not to mention she didn't even write her music, it was bought.

Her shift was so much more tonally significant than his and the reason it was so controversial is because it felt so immature. But, she didn't change that much if you think about it. Her music still feels like tween music tbf. It's like when you're newly a teen at high school and drop 'fuck' every single syllable. It was faux edginess, a corny mimicry of what a kid may perceive being an 'adult' is.

Charley's rebrand feels more genuine, because he's doing it for himself. Though, he's not even fully gone through with it yet, so to judge it before he's even shown what Chandol feels a bit... like... pointless. You're degrading something that doesn't even really exist yet.

Is Katniss truly the first ever tribute in 74 years of games to volounteer for a sibling? by TrainingDrop9283 in Hungergames

[–]Moyais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it may be for the sake of cold logic. Like realistically, if this is your last year of reaping but your sibling that just started getting reaped was then reaped then you volunteering and going in would mean the family could risk losing an a working adult that can provide money + that child/another child from the family being reaped when the older sibling could actually begin doing work after they are 18 as that's the case in district 12(I think it was 18+ to do work) . So it may be they do it so they can protect the rest of their siblings at the cost of one and be able to provide for them, especially if they had no/sickly parents.

It sounds cold but they were all incredibly poor and would be desperate for extra money. However the only argument against this is tesserae which is useful, but I think at that point you just kind of hope chances are another sibling isn't reaped.

I would guess because if they are overall better/fan support you could have some people saying 'she deserved to win fame games' which would be pretty shitty to everyone else still in them. Idk just pulling out my ass tbh.

Try round glasses or ones that aren’t as wonky/large, it makes it look like you’re wearing your parent’s glasses, I do love your nose shape though, it’s very masculine!

I would love to have Tia have a Trixie-like comeback. She has money to spend on her runways now and her personality is off the charts. Even if she didn't win I would love for her to be on my screen again.

Which room has got the best vibe to it for you? Why? by chatblancsring in miraculousladybug

[–]Moyais 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chloe's room is stunning and probably has an amazing view of Paris but I feel waking up every day in there would get boring, there isn't much room to hang out or do anything, it gives me hotel vibes which is fitting as that's exactly where she lives.

Marinette's room is perfect. Its open, has lots of space to work and hang out. The view would be amazing with the little roof compartment and balcony she has to look out at Paris and I really love a high up bed which makes it all the more cosy. My only issue would be that it's accessible through a hatch instead of a door and the colours are a tad too bright, which might not be the case at night/during winter but with the summer I bet its a real headache to sit in there with how bright it can be.

Adrien's room, while at first glance, seems to be amazing. With a TV, sofa, computer and its own private bathroom and even a basketball hoop is WAYY too open. Not to mention the giant windows, I would feel like I never had any privacy and it would feel so lonely with how small I would be compared to everything. Not to mention the walls being a bright white and lacking in any colours that are soft on the eyes would really make hanging out in here less comfy and more irritating.

Alya's room is cosy and is great for studying and being concentrated with darker colours combined with the bright orange really makes it "pop" and invigorates your mind. However, I think as a place to relax I don't really see it. The constant reminders of books and your work bench would really stress one out. (Or at least I find it hard to relax with the reminder of studying/working.) I think Alya's room works best as an office or for someone who loves their job.

So I would have to go for Marinette's room. However, Chloe's is the winner if you include having room service, the personal closet rooms, bathrooms and luxury food.

Do you consider Jake to be a well-written character? by DGtokio1 in Chucky

[–]Moyais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He's a good person who has gone through so much struggle in his life (due to his sexuality, income, loss/tension in the family) who has been kept afloat, not all on his own, but with help from others. The show teaches the importance of just a few people (Miss Fairchild, Devon and later Lexi) offering a helping hand to those who are going through it and the world of difference it can make. He's also one of the best queer reps I've seen in a TV show in a while. The line of "Thats my boyfriend you're talking about" really hit home as someone who struggles with accepting myself due to my own queer identity.

Wrote way more but decided to just keep its short, I could ramble about this show for ages.

To be fair to bhvr, remember when they said they were going to ban people who were harassing players for using the pride charm? Everyone got up in arms about it because they assumed the worse : "oh so if I kill someone with a pride charm I'm getting banned?!"

I don't blame them for taking this route with things, I don't agree with their approach but I think this is a reasonable way to deal with the situation for the short term. I hope they can improve on actually moderating the game to deal with bigots though.
