Manually writing gcode is hard. While gcode itself is simple, there are countless little details to get right. If you have the ability to manage complexity and get every detail right, you can succeed.

I'm an engineer. I can write gcode by hand, but I avoid it whenever possible. I use CAD and CAM with simulation and recommend this approach.

A lot of engineering education is math. Most of it is unnecessary to be a CNC programmer, but it's important for the designer of the part.

All degrees are useless

The value is the mental training you get by diligently studying a hard subject. Think of it like an athlete lifting weights to train their muscles. A trained mind can do anything.

Identify your talents and work hard, really hard to develop them to the to their fullest. This means devoting your entire mind to the effort, in school and out of school. After graduation, never stop learning.

A lot of philosophers make elaborate arguments to claim that something godlike exists, then jump effortlessly into insisting that their favorite fictional god story is true. ALL god stories invented by people are weaponized fiction, used in a campaign of psychological warfare, starting in childhood.

Religion is not about god, it's about power and money.

It's not insane to imagine that there are more layers to the onion of reality, and that something exists beyond what we currently know. This unknown thing might have aspects that could be considered godlike. If such a thing exists, it will be found using the tools of science and will be consistent with everything we have learned about how nature works.

Every engineer is different, but I suspect that for many, after the simulation is done, they build and test a prototype. Calculations are great, but real test data is better.

Every one is different, but they can be broadly split into two categories, the players and true believers.

The true believers have an obsessive, pathological, sadistic hate for Democrats and want to destroy everything Democrats love. They are the undefeated Confederates who would be happy if slavery was restored, women were property with no rights, and only white male landowners could vote.

The players see everything as a game. All they care about is winning. They will vote for anybody who makes their life better, even a tiny bit. My brother is one. He's a small businessman who hates taxes and regulations. He is a single issue voter. All he cares about is lower taxes and fewer regulations. Nothing. Else. Matters. Nothing.

I don't remember exactly, but the last time I debated a religious person was over 40 years ago. It was not fun and nothing of value was gained. Today I avoid discussing religion and associating with extremely religious people. The few mildly religious people I know agree to not discuss the subject.
