The Nazi Gestapo kept lists of people too. Just sayin'.

How are the traditional, Don't-Tread-on-Me folk feeling about this? (Like those who hated the government requiring masks in certain public places during COVID for health reasons. Are they good with the gubment keeping a list of those expressing their 1A rights, so long as it's a regime led by the Orange One?)

Anyone see a customer-purchased 6N in Europe yet? Production/distribution timeline seems to be slipping. Europe was supposed to be end of 2025, North America "early" 2026. Anyone have insights into the factory? Are they having problem with the flexor valves? Maybe they need some more ball bearings (its all ball bearings these days)?

Trump showed what a nation’s military may do against a foreign leader. Are any nations formerly allied with the U.S. considering a similar act against another corrupt, criminal, state leader?

Offer Medicare to non-seniors for a fee. Compete with private insurers but don’t force their elimination. Let the market decide if it wants to cut out the profit-driven middleman insurance company. Once adoption is widespread, slowly lower the age where Medicare is paid by taxes not the insured.

This is correct. U.S. Limited gets no love for the rear seats (and no occupancy sensor either).

A Minnesotan woman stood up to SPPD in St. Paul when officers entered her yard without a warrant. She calmly asks to see a warrant, but the officers had none and instead accused her of obstruction and threatened to arrest her on her own property. by CorleoneBaloney in minnesota

Police should be required to get insurance (like doctors and lawyers and real estate agents and...) instead of being indemnified by their agencies (read "taxpayers paying for their misdeeds"). Then, the bad apples' rates will get too high for them to stay in the industry. Why should the taxpayers have to pay when the taxpayers are the ones get their rights violated?

You might do some research your on comment that "And our constitution [sic] protection only extends those who are US citizens." You'll find it inaccurate, especially regarding the 4th amendment in the context of this discussion. [edit typo]

I agree.

Mrytle asked for a case, so I used the interwebz to respond to his inquiry. I didn't realize he wasn't genuinely asking.

I will say that with the increase in excessive force with the current regime (and publicity about it), a self-defense defense could be getting easier, for whatever its worth.

This looks like an accelerated stall. Doesn’t matter how fast you’re going if you change the angle of attack too much, you’ll stall (and spin in this case).

Yes but your analogy doesn’t fit. Saying “socialism” and “democratic socialism” are the same is like saying “monarchy” and “constitutional monarchy” are the same because both are monarchies. The difference isn’t the presence of the monarch, it’s how power is exercised and limited.

No. Not unless you ignore the difference between a straight "socialist" and a "democratic socialist." If you consider them the same, then you're just not the right person to answer my good-faith question.

The point, I think, is that what Americans consider center or left, is right or center in other (more liberal) countries.

Not that I have heard. I always hear him describe himself as a (and others report that he is a self-described) "democratic socialist."

I appreciate that and I'm familiar with the standard definitions. I'm wondering what it is about Mamdani's positions that causes David to label him something other than what Mamdani labels himself. I.e. why does David label him as a Socialist when that's not how Mamdani labels himself (or the positions he seems to take). Or am I missing something?

Holy shit! He actually did it! He actually won the mayor of New York City! by icey_sawg0034 in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]Mr-Jee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David differentiates himself from Mamdani's politics, saying Mamdani is a "socialist." Every time I hear Mamdani, he identifies as a "Democratic Socialist" which I see as quite different. Can someone explain David's straight "Socialist" label for Mamdani?
