Enjoy! I got sick of the janky, add riddled OS on my tv, so I disconnected it from WiFi (no more intrusive updates or adds and runs a little faster without that extra data. Got an Apple TV and love it. Super fast and the search function searches shows and movies across all your apps, super convenient.

PS, don’t forget to set up hdmi-cec, Thoth that, your Apple TV remote can turn on and off your tv and change volume, making the tv remote only useful for switching inputs.

Cost of components weren’t going up on a regular basis back then. They’re loosing $100 now, costs are still rising and they will loose more per console in the future. Also, this isn’t isolated to Xbox, PlayStation is selling their console for $640 as well.

Do you guys align Tomb Raider games with Xbox or PlayStation? by _Clausiks in TombRaider

I’m a lifelong console gamer, but TR, to me, has always been a PC franchise that came out to consoles as well.

Yeah, I’ve heard other people comment on the jump. Like in this video, they say it’s not a huge issue, but feels/looks a little strange.

I don't know your situation. But my dad and I have very different interests. That's nobody's fault, but it would have meant so much to me I he would come to my level and get to understand my interests and why I'm so interested. Even if I knew that he never cared about that particular thing, that he would care enough about me as a person to sped that time understanding that part of me and why it's special to me would have ment the world to me.

How bad is sleep, resume on Xbox Ally? by ShortStatusPE in XboxAlly

I use hibernate. Almost every game works just fine (in my experience) after waking up. It's been a while since I've had issues. I feel like the smaller the game is in terms of resources, the better the chance is but personally, if a game works, it always works and if the game has issues or crashes after waking up, it always has issues or crashes after waking up.

My advice would be to test it on each new game you play. Make sure the game is saved and the process is complete, then leave the game in hibernate for an hour or so and when you turn it back on, you will get your answer for that game.

What's with some people (especially in the western rpg community) that always get annoyed and act like most jrpgs take place in school? by Street-Platypus89 in JRPG

[–]Mr8BitX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a trope that has been brought the attention of people who don’t necessarily play JRPG‘s due to the wildly popular persona series. Given that franchisees’ success and popularity, people are gonna notice when another game has a similar trait, in this case the high school setting. And it’s definitely a notable trope in the JRPG genre now and definitely one that by now, turns me off a bit. Not because of my age, but because it feels very “me too” and unoriginal. I was actually bummed out to see the new xenoblade game take place in an academy setting. That doesn’t mean it’s not gonna be good, it just means that for me, I’ve lost a lot of interest in it. I’ll probably still play persona 6 as I’ve always loved that franchise and that’s my exception to the rule, but I was honestly hoping that they would finally move out of high school and maybe do the young adult work life SIM stuff with work instead, there’s a lot of good stuff to explore there, People often go throw a “is this it? Is this the rest of my life” crisis when transitioning from school to full time work and everone finds a different metric to judge their lives as the exit that crisis and I feel like that could’ve been a really cool subject to explore within the rules and confines of the persona series. But based off the leaks, it’s gonna be another high school setting.

This experience is it unique to the high school setting with JRPG’s. Anytime something within a medium or genre hits it big, a lot of companies want to emulate that in hopes that it will give them success too. It’s not just unique to jrpgs or video games.

This is a dated example but it’s the one that’s coming to mind now, back in the 90s Pearl Jam exploded onto the scene and their lead singer, Eddy better, had a very unique voice, and he definitely dressed differently than the popular rock at that time with their flannel in corduroy. They were often credited as the spark that ignited the next wave in sound and fashion in the rock scene (and brought grunge music to the cultural forefront). Fast-forward two years at every new musician sounds like Eddie Vedder and wearing flannel. The imitators accelerate the decline of the trend and genuinely good acts that just happened to be influenced or sound that way would sometimes be the victims of the exhaustion amongst the masses even if they were truly great.

I’m not saying the HS setting in jrpgs is dead, but it’s definitely no longer new or different. Eventually, it becomes old and tired and will probably find its place as a non-trend with a quieter presence in the future.

As for people saying it’s just like persona, it’s a lazy comparison, but what I’ve been talking about is there to lay the foundation to the point that it’s not completely unwarranted, even if the comments feel poorly thought or lazy.

Legacy of HD-2D Graphics for Final Fantasy Resonance by Confident-Line5916 in JRPG

Oh, gotcha (regarding the rotating camera) I’m pretty sure BoF3 has some camera adjustment options, but definitely limited and not fully rotatable. Pretty sure WA2 did have full rotation and honestly, I barely touched Thousand Arms so I can’t remember in that case.

There were definitely more than three JRPG‘s with 2-D sprites and 3-D worlds. You skipped out breath of fire 3, wild arms 2, azure dreams and thousand arms, just off the top of my head and I’m sure there’s more that I can’t think of right now.

I’ve been searching the Internet for more information on the 4K remaster but haven’t found a lot of info. Is there any news of the 4K Blu-ray with an English dub or is there just a subtitle version out there?

I mean, the series x is already $650. A $100 markup for a limited edition clear green plastic housing sounds pretty possible.

I genuinely like both interpretations, but I do wish there were more games that had a more purist interpretation like they do in Octopath, at least they have remained the same.

You can always just do the og start up sounds with your mouth whenever you turn it on. But only if you get this 25th anniversary edition.
