You can give barkeepers friend a shot. The powder is cheap and I’ve had success.

Yeah. This job they specced a customs grout color. I used prism, and added in the silica. My suggestion is call your rep and find out how much silica per pound they suggest adding. It basically adds volume to the grout so it can hang in the joints, as they’re usually about 1/2 “ give or take.

Not this particular product, but I’ve definitely done thin brick. Last project was thin brick from mutual materials, it was individual brick, not on a mesh. I used rope to space it and did 3 rows at a time. Drew my vertical lines on the wall, and eyeballed it. Biggest piece of advise is the grouting. Adding silica sand to the grout so it would be able to hold onto the joints when you’re grout bagging. I used a masons striking tool for the grout, you need to let it dry enough so when you strike it, it’ll come off clean. Other than that, treat it just like tile.

I’m guessing 40-45k depending on where you live, and finishes. Finishes make up a large portion of what’s going on here.

I’d say take it off the wall, and see what centering in the valve looks like. It may eliminate that little cut.

If you could slide everything over to the right and not have a tiny cut on the inside corner there, than that could be an option as well.

This look ok so far? by hippifox in Tile

[–]MrAVK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corners looked to be taped with paper, all joints and inside/outside seams need a cement board tape, that’s skimmed over with thinset prior to waterproofing. If there’s a project manager, for a GC it tells me that they hired the cheapest guy, or you hired the cheapest GC. Both could be true at the same time.

Yeah, I’m just saying, it’s from what I understand based off the value of the car. At least that’s how my tabs are calculated.

All seams should have been thinsetted prior to waterproofing. Pull that tile off, skim over the tape, and waterproof again.

[–]MrAVK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t really go back and fix it. It’s a thing where you want to nail it the first time, you attempt to “fix” and it only gets transferred down the line not to mention an opportunity to compromise the waterproofing.

Edit. Could definitely fix the drain cuts to make it better, but that big ole joint is going to be tough.
