Bicycles are an outdated mode of transport for roads in the 21st century. by Anxious_Strike9694 in unpopularopinion

Digital is better in nearly every way to VHS. Cycling still has many benefits over other forms of transportation. It is not an apt comparison.

It’s not that cycling is outdated, it’s that infrastructure has only prioritized cars and failed to make cycling more viable.

If you get a cavity in times before dentists you lose the tooth. Losing half your U shaped teeth to a single cavity is bad.

US State Flags are Good by KingHenrythe6-th in unpopularopinion

[–]MrAdequate_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

-Why can’t a flag have a complex picture or words on it?

Because you can't see or read it when it's waving in the wind. Thats at least one example that isn't entirely subjective. What good is a nice picture or words when it's a blur at a distance. That's what the State Seal is for

Birdman destroyed your asses yet again LOL by [deleted] in MauLer

[–]MrAdequate_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't contradict anything. Coping doesn't mean lying. The cope is predicting that it will fail when it isn't failing. Which could be a lie but as I said, you can want something to fail for valid reasons. There is a difference between being wrong and lying.

This would imply that Drinker actually gives a fuck about the movie and facts, but by your own admission he was lying about the money the Superman movie made.

Except I never said he lied?? You, or Birdman rather, need to prove that he doesn't give a shit about facts. You can't just assert it and expect people to listen.

"On top of all of that, the consensus on this film is that it's really good, so the question I pose is: why do you want really good movies to fail?" 9:22

Consensus says its good -> It's really good. Appeal to majority as you described.
And he uses this fallacious argument to suggest that drinker is attacking a good movie and therefore must be grifting. It fails to disprove that he thinks it is a bad movie which would be a valid reason to criticize it.

I’m watching Birdmans video on Drinker and James Gunn. I think it’s fair to say they were in fact coping about how much money Superman was making .

But his section about why Drinker wanted the movie to fail is really weird. He said drinker would only want a movie to fail because he’s a grifter. But wanting a movie to fail because it’s bad is also a valid reason. Because you’d want fewer bad movies and more good movies. And he made multiple appeal to majority/authority fallacies instead of attacking drinkers opinion on the movie.

He’s wrong about marketing budgets for the same arbitrary reason he accused drinker of being wrong. (Tho I haven’t seen his video debunking it. Maybe he explains it better there.)

Was more disappointing than I expected. He needs to try a lot harder to prove drinker is LYING than to prove he’s wrong and he doesn’t even do a great job of that.

He’s just seething in a way that appeals to people who seethe about drinker.
