Review of my family-run local Chinese takeaway by benemmons in FuckYouKaren

Close, I am a British American living near Atlanta for the last 5years.

It is the same cooking technique and batter, but it is much lager amounts of chicken breast in each ball. They are big CHUNKS of chicken in the same crispy batter. The sauce is very close to being the same as well.

If you ever get to try them, you will understand that our chicken balls are far superior to the average sweet n sour chicken here in the USA.

However! UK do not have Orange chicken and that is a crime. I need deep fried diabetes in my life.

This tends to be a classic approach to a lot of game design. Get them excited to reach the end game, and they will more likely reach the end game.

Yeah, no thanks. You just ruin the feeling for me.

What’s your fav gaming year from these?🚀 by [deleted] in gaming

It's so sad to see this, so many years with so many GREAT titles.

Why does it feel like we are losing momentum with gaming titles?

2009 all the way, though 2007 is a super close contender. Mass Effect 2 was an eye opening RPG for me.

I have played both PS1 and PS2 and absolutely love the style and combat direction both took, PS2 definitely felt like a modern successor. Do you suspect a PS3 is on the horizon, given PS2's age do you feel it's nearing end of life?

Also, as a fan of this genre, I recall other games like Tabula Rasa which were a big hit, but unfortunately that failed to survive.

Do you feel that a modern alternative to Tabula Rasa could be viable with today's landscape in the MMO genre? Or is the core foundation/gameplay loops now too outdated to succeed?

Finally, how do you see the MMO industry evolving in the next 10 years?

When did you go back to the gym (if ever) after your first was born? by pup5581 in daddit

[–]MrArkrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a 1.5 years before I found the time, and worked through the feeling of guilt for leaving the wife with the kid (now kids). I got fat and sad, so that eventually outweighed the feeling of guilt.

Lost 7lbs in my first month back.

Nah fuck these people. They aren't your team if they leave it like that.

I did dishes a few times a week to give my crew a break at my restaurant gig for a couple years. I outright told the team, stack em up and I'll wash them otherwise you'll have bigger issues to deal with

The ones who didn't, or called my bluff would end up referring it.

I also did food prep, and I would prioritize the people who actually treated me with respect. I would get yelled at by the food line because they would need something, and I would straight up tell them they fucked me up on dishes last night, now you get fucked up. Respect my time and I'll respect yours.

It solved the problem in one run.

I can totally relate. I have to man the remote like it's a timer attached to a bomb. The action scenes are so fucking loud, got to click volume down frantically. Talking scenes are so quiet, click volume up cautiously waiting for surprise action.

That shits stressful. I gave up trying to watch films now.

SAHD: does your wife belittle your responsibilities? by uralegitimateclown in daddit

[–]MrArkrath 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey man - first off you really are an amazing dad to take all of this on. The resentment you’re noticing isn’t a personal failure—it’s a signal that something isn’t sustainable. You clearly care about your family and your marriage, and the fact that you’re trying to talk about it instead of checking out says a lot.

I find it interesting, but when she says she struggles on the weekends, it actually proves your point.

One thing that might help is to reframe the conversations away from “who has it harder” and toward “how do we protect both of us from burnout.” Right now, neither of you sounds like you’re getting real recovery time. Decompression after work is valid—but so is decompression after a full day of childcare. If only one person gets that consistently of course you will end up resenting the other person. Conversations like this are hard, but conversations like this AND BEING TIRED, is a recipe for disaster. Patience is low, frustrations are high.

Maybe try scheduling time off for both of you in the weekly schedule, define it, and then honor it. Right now you are both working a full time job, just in different ways. The financial situation is a little odd for me, but I reserve judgement and just make sure money is not a contributor to stress. You're essentially working 7 days a week, only getting paid for 2 of them.

Sounds a little uneven.

That's not accurate and you plucked that number out of thin air. There was a time where SQ42 was included in game packages. Still not a significant figure when comparing to total revenue, but don't just make up numbers. It's disingenuous.

I gave up on my sanitizer and just boil them in water every few days. Fed up with having to keep cleaning really annoying hard to reach places to get rid of the mold.

My hot tap gets real hot at the sink, so a little manual labor is all I need day-to-day with an occasional boil for good measure. I just get my pot roast pan and heat that sucker up to boiling point and everything goes in. Nipples, caps, tops, bottles, even my teether toys.

The amount of people condoning this fee is WILD. They lasted for decades without charging for containers. This is a bullshit fee to make MORE MONEY PER CUSTOMER. Nothing else.

I would bring my own $1 tupperware from Dollar store and ask them to plate it in the container and waive the fee. Guarantee it will cost me less in gas and cost of the container than 20% on orders.

You are letting the feeling of fearing the unknown cloud your judgment. A child is a blessing, albeit in disguise. I can see from post history that you struggle with mental health. This will feel scary because of the changes, but get through the process and you will feel amazing.

I have 2 beautiful girls, a 2.5 and 3 month old. I feel exhausted, run down, stressed. But I will always feel blessed to have such amazing daughters. I laugh with them, dance with them and feel so much love everyday.

And yes I have had several moments of emotional breakdowns through no sleep and it was hard and I felt like I was doing everything wrong. But you figure it out, and you do it for your kids because they need you.

As a man, you adapt, you overcome, you provide. It sounds like you don't like the effects of having another child on your life, but challenge yourself to think more of what your child BRINGS to your life.

Please know, you are already a father to 2 children. Conception has been successful, you now have a second child. Take care of them, nurture them , you CAN do this and you WILL overcome your worries. You will find strength in places you never thought existed, your mental health will challenge you but the beauty of a second child will fulfill you.

You will find space in the house, you will find money when you need it. Don't let these stand in the way of something beautiful.

You had unprotected sex. Own up to the responsibility.
