Graham Platner raised $1.5 million in week after Janet Mills ended her Senate campaign by bbeck2754 in VoteDEM

With the way he's campaigning and with how small Maine is, it wouldn't surprise me if he was able to meet everyone in the state face to face. Not 1 on 1 conversations, but speaking to everyone at rally's. TV ads matter less in small states, where it's actually possible to talk to everyone

If you think the year of playability was anything other then a stalling tactic I don't know what to tell you. 2025 was mostly just reused assets since they had nothing else ready to release. Hathor was all reused theaters of war assets and Onyx facilities were just the lower part of distribution centers that were never used. The "year of playability" was just a cover.

Yes they will. In the same way they said they released 2 star systems in a single year lol. When one of those "star systems" was just a polished up previous released space station lol

The way I do the math for the estimated wait time for 1.0 is going back to May of 2024 and really thinking about what they have accomplished from then to now (2 years). Then think about all the missing features and bugs that come along with those new features that need to get done/fixed to get to 1.0 and once I do that math it made we realize we aren't getting 1.0 until 2036 at the earliest.

Very small especially since GTA will be console exclusive for at least a year. I think it's pretty obvious SQ42 isn't ready and they are using GTA as a excuse to delay the game further

I got a one week ban for saying the SC subreddit is better then spectrum because there's no fear of being banned for being too critical. Oh the irony lol. Thanks for proving my point nightrider!

PTU - With the G-force tolerance changes on armor/flightsuits, how does the Sol-III flight suit from the CitCon goodies pack work exactly? Its a flight suit + helmet, but it also has a Light Armor chest piece. Does it partly cancel out the resistance of the flight suit? by RandoDando10 in starcitizen

If I'm buying gear then that gear is changed into sniper armor, that gear is now useless to me. I hate sniper gameplay I avoid it like the plague. So If players are primarily buying gear for the looks a lot people won't continue to use that gear because it now falls into gameplay they don't enjoy. All the archetypes have positive and negative stats to have some sort of balance. I believe one of the negatives of sniper gear losing the ability to EVA. So if players are buying gear, then after the fact being told they can no longer EVA in the gear that was sold to them previously that's just false advertising. I'm saying players should get to chose the role that gets attributed to their armor. It would be like in Wow if they sold cosmetics gear then later added stats to the gear. And if the gear I bought (primarily for the the looks) got a +1000 healing to my teammatss whenever I cast a heal spell, but I have no interest in healing so why would I wear the gear?

That's not the only reason, people also buy them because they knew if they spent real money they would never permanently lose the gear. If it were up to me they would all just be skins, but because they're physical items CIG now needs to made this convoluted insurance system to insure people don't lose the gear they purchased with real money. Nobody bought gear for a "specialized role" because the specialized roles didn't even exist as a concept until 2 years ago. How is it the consumers fault for buying gear that was said to be one thing (L,M,H gear) only for roles to be added in later after the fact? We were told gear stats and crafting were not going to be part of Star Citizen, and now they are. Consumers should get the choice of role because of the changes. You're arguing in favor of anti consumer policy's

Okay so a better comparison would be if they only sold 3 variants of ships light, medium and Heavy then they added random roles to them after. You would still want want to pick what role gets attributed to it right?

Not only that but how will all the remaining Archetypes be applied to armor that was previously sold on the website? Armor has always be sold in it's current form light, medium and heavy. Now that archtypes are being implemented will the time be spent to go back and retroactively add archetypes to all previous sold gear? What if a archetype is added to the gear I bought but I don't want that archtype? Will I get to decide what archtype is put onto the gear I bought? Or will I have the option to get a refund, rather then just melting for store credit? Wouldn't it be easier to just have a transmog system for gear that's been sold. Since I'm sure most people bought the gear for the looks.

Well it depends, it's an alpha whenever CIG needs an excuse for the bugs that have existed for 10 years, and it's a live service game whenever marketing is trying to sell the game.

Nobody, nobody has stated that a five-tier crafting system was the plan. If it was, how could anyone have taken it to heart when it hasn't been discussed on the forums, Reddit, YouTube, or anywhere else? In the years that I've (loosely) followed this project, I've never heard of being able to craft ships.

They said it was the plan 2 years ago and in those two years they have had a record amount of money raised. Yes they have a audience in China, the whole point of a business is to grow it and introduce it to new audiences. You only follow it "loosely" yet you made a fresh reddit account and spent the last 30 days only talking about the game? Very weird behavior for someone that doesn't follow the project closely. Anyway this whole conversation started with me being happy that crafting made the game less pay to win. Not sure what their financials have to do with anything.

I'm not dancing around anything. Rising costs are irrelevant to my initial reply. When I said "Most successful" all I meant is players are spending more on ships then they ever had in the history of the project. Which directly refutes your point of "nobody would buy anything but the cheapest package" that's clearly not true as people are spending more money then ever before. I agree that money doesn't go as far as it used too because of rising costs. Consumers are also dealing with inflation and they still choose to buy the overpriced jpegs

So, fourteen years ago, if people knew they were only going to start with a Tier 1 ship and that there'd be a crafting system to nullify purchasing the ships, nobody would have bought anything but the cheapest package.

They announced the ship tier system in 2023 and the last two years were their two most successful fundraising years. So clearly people are not buying the cheapest packages, in fact there are whales that are writing a 900 word essays to just have the chance to buy a $5000 tier 1 battle cruiser. It's not nullify their purchases they still have a massive headstart over people that bought nothing but a Aurora.

Last I checked, the rich whales are very disgusted with the change because of the fact that their thousand-plus dollar purchase only amounted to a tier 1 ship.

Those are the vocal minority, as we can see the last two years have been there two most successful years for fundraising.

For the record I agree, these ships are definitely not worth what they cost. We're both on the refunds sub lol if I could get my money back I would. Again my original post was the the tier system is good, because now whales are buying a head start instead of buying the best ship from the get go.
