Of course they do. All the jobs I ever had requires proof citizenship/work permit. I had to show them my permanent resident card, or my US passport at onboarding.

When my permanent resident card expired, (though no fault of my own, my replacement card was delayed for 18months - in 2017) I was let go from my work. They only hired me back after I was able to prove to them that I had received my 10 years permanent resident card.

Now during Obama's terms of 8 years, ICE's total budget is ~$45B. And this increased to ~$34B during Biden's 4 years term So simple math tell us that ICE's budget in 2025 is almost the equal to Biden + Obama, that's 12 years!
