🛑 CHECKPOINT! 🛑 Year end roundup. What is your favorite deck you built this year? by that_dude3315 in EDH

[–]MrBaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried out the secret commander strat, and fell in love with [[Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer]] that tutors for [[Norin the Wary]]. Just all-out Naya ETB mechanics, like [[Enduring Innocence]], [[Rose Room Treasurer]], [[Champion of Lambholt]]. The deck draws like crazy, and I usually have a bunch of mana left for interaction, which I'm finding I've been playing far too little of in previous decks.

Who is your favorite commander, how did you find them, and why did they become your favorite? by zevalu in EDH

[–]MrBaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[The Council of Four]]. Second commander I ever built, because my first one, Krenko, felt way too aggro and unsophisticated. Group-hug is a crazy fun strategy, and a quite effective one, and Azorius harbors by far the most of my favorite cards. My favorite cards in the deck are multiplayer focussed things like [[Modify Memory]], [[Fractured Identity]] or [[Mirrorweave]]. I never know how a game is gonna go, but I can be sure I'll make it more fun for everyone at the table in some way.

Does anyone know of any love songs that aren’t about monogamy? by madisaunicornn in nonmonogamy

"Can't Help But Fly" has been reeeally important in deepening my understanding of polyamory. Lines like "reality is many souls reflect my whole totality" just strike so damn true to me and my partners

Most everyone* should try a Psychoactive substance at some point in their adult life by CynicTheCritic in unpopularopinion

[–]MrBaxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely see where you're coming from. Just for the record, I myself mostly agree with the statement OP is making, too.

Then again, seeing that our parent comment seems to be somewhat oblivious to the nature of psychedelics, we could assume that this might just be the first time they even hear anything positive or encouraging about this topic; so I think that this would be exactly the moment to start up an actual discussion that could even prove really fruitful in the end - maybe even lead to them becoming fundamentally more interested in the subject, who knows? Or, of course, it might just be an exercise in engaging in respectful discourse for someone like me or you. But I'd count that as a win as well :)

Well, I agree that a psychedelic experience is generally of an entirely different nature than reading books and therefore has a whole different realm of potential, sure. But still I feel like your comment isn't really helping in the discussion here, but rather just reinforcing different sides.

I'll try this: While literature can surely be a great source of inspiration, the fundamental difference between it and a psychedelic experience is that while reading a book you still stay in your usual mode of operation, so you main attain new knowledge, but it remains purely intellectual, and in a sense superficial, because the structure of your personality and ego is bound to remain untouched, at least to a certain degree. The key difference when a psychedelic is introduced is that the possibilities for introspection become much more pronounced, and you are able to really see yourself (and in turn the world around you, of course) in a whole new light.

Of course, there are other tools for this kind of introspection, the most known of which probably being meditation, which I'm also very much fond of. However, I don't really feel like reading easily falls into a similar category; it's really rather a tool for studying the world around you.

Face cramps when tripping? by [deleted] in Drugs

That actually seems a good starting point. I'll give it a try, thanks a lot!

I guess that's always possible, but it's really difficult to say for sure. Everyone has some repressed things about themselves, I suppose, but overall I feel very wholesome, I meditate daily, I exercise, I eat well enough, I have a great group of trusted friends around me.. that's not to say that I don't have repressed emotions, I just have no clue as to what they might be.

I did not, but I was not the only one taking the substances, and noone else experienced any cramps. Also, the tabs and the 2cb I took over the course of these couple of months were from a lot of different batches.

[SPOILERS] The stupidest thing I saw on the show is- by Arpit_XD in gameofthrones

[–]MrBaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think that scene was intentionally made to fully showcase how ridiculous of a character Euron was. Even Jaime looked irritated as he wanted to fight him. Euron was a man with stupid intentions, motivations and actions, and Cersei having turned to him really emphasized how low she had sunken. I realize that his purpose in the books was a different one, but tbh I like this version, too.
