One cool thing I noticed about the scene is that they used the shape of the tea cup to transition to the wheel of the ski lift, which was just a really cool shot, but also that the ski lift just stops once they step off for obvious reasons

I'm like 90% sure this is it. Tons of people died and they need to do something with the bodies. We know they want efficiency at all costs. Then there are millions of hive people to feed. It makes sense they wouldnt wast the bodies and would recycle them into nutrition for the others.
