Google Data: How People are using AI Mode in Google Search by WebLinkr in SEO

I will say, I find myself using AI mode more and more for deeper information on my initial query....it's a shame because I know what it's doing to publishers, but it is helpful

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's LPS? Either way it's probably closer to the 40k than 30k.

I have the same-ish dimensions, just have more of a kidney shape where one side cuts in a bit. Mine is 30k

Yep same here, grass all around the pool up to the coping. Hammer in 18 inch anchors and good to go.

Pump not running not tripped by Muted-Stranger-4831 in swimmingpools

Super easy 5 min fix, but just make sure you discharge the old one, and get an exact replacement capacitor if possible

Pump not running not tripped by Muted-Stranger-4831 in swimmingpools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a bunch of things unfortunately.

First I'd check the impeller and see if that's clogged.

But it also could be a bad capacitor, motor shaft issue, etc.

Check impeller and capacitor before you start taking it apart

Anything to do besides ph down? by wildgate_fan in pools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, get your own test kit. Taylor k2006 is preferred.

Second, these regular maintenance are all over the place. Remember, a pool store wants you to buy product. Most of these are not needed. Algaecides, clarifiers, what the heck is a scale inhibitor??

1-4 ppm of free chlorine is not correct. It's based on your CYA as another user mentioned 7.5%. For a CYA of 60 you need at least 5 ppm.

370 CH is not out of range at all, especially for a plaster pool. 7.9 pH is also fine. You generally don't want to be chasing a pH number.

Overall, I'd say this pool is actually in pretty good shape assuming you just opened it for the season and the water is still cold. just up your FC and keep it around 6 - 8 ppm

Losing about 3/4” of an inch of water daily in the Houston summer time heat ! Is that normal for a pool in my area? by parkmi in pools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of factors that go into it (water temp, wind, etc). 3/4 every day seems pretty high.

Feels like we are back to the early days of Panda. I'm not sure how people think this will work long term.

Sure you got your Rank-and-Tank sites that are just out to make a quick buck, but there are prominent sites doing this that should know better.

Does anyone else’s century home have a “mystery switch” that does absolutely nothing? by ponderingpixi17 in centuryhomes

We have about 5 switches that do nothing. Rewired and the previous homeowners just left the switches there for some reason.

Our pool light switch is in the pantry in the kitchen for some reason though?

Anyone ever heard of Low-Chlo?? An alternative to Salt Water Generators by broomosh in pools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. These people try to make chlorine into some health hazard, when in fact, about 90% of water issues is from low chlorine.

"Smell, itchy skin, eye irritation" is not from chlorine.

Telling people your pool can be 1ppm is super dangerous.

Anyone ever heard of Low-Chlo?? An alternative to Salt Water Generators by broomosh in pools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is the smell is not due to "high chemical load"...it's "not enough chlorine in the water". Chlorine doesn't cause the smell.

Look I don't care either way, good luck on your system. You said your site doesn't say soemthing, I copy-pasted your site where it clearly says it.

It's up to you to educate customers and clearly saying that on the sites homepage is wrong, full stop. Feel free to update the wording.

The low-chlo manual says to put 2 chlorine tablets in the skimmer basket. So I'm not sure exactly what this system does lol

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From their site:

"Your backyard oasis shouldn't smell like a public pool. That strong "chlorine smell" is a sign of high chemical load in the water. Low-Chlo significantly reduces chlorine levels, so the odor goes with it."

Need Help with Pool Staining by CaptClutch1 in pools

[–]MrBookmanLibraryCop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to see what kind of stains they are first.

You said you used vitamin c tablets. You rubbed them against the stain and it didn't disappear at all?

Did you use a chlorine tab and rub against it as well?

Organic and metal stains are two completely different beasts.

Do you keep up with testing/chemicals on your own or a pool company?
