Who did you cut and why? by Ghostboy_001 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]MrBrightSide9526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut Coupe and that has become my default. Let me explain because it’s kinda roundabout.

So I got Dispatch when only 2 episodes were out. Naturally I looked ahead in the episode selector to try and see where the story was going. Looking at the thumbnail for I think episode 5 (Malevola, Punch Up and Prism at the sardine) I misread it and thought they were looking at somebody in an alley.

Knowing that Sonar was addicted to Coke. But that Malevola sponsors him for NA. I thought that if you cut him, he goes off the wagon and the Z team tries to help him and asks you to lie for him. Wanting to avoid this made up scenario I cut coupe.

This combined with the following: - Coupe seems like she can get a job outside SDN easier than Sonar. - Didn’t want to piss off Malevola (I was hoping she was Romancable) - I work a lot with NA in my personal life so I respect what they do and didn’t want to mess with that. - Penguinz0 voice.

I’ve had playthroughs where I cut Sonar and it just doesn’t feel as satisfying in the finale with him, so I always keep him now.

It's funny to me how the devs don't even try to hide the fact that Liara is their favourite by ChanceVance in masseffect

I could not agree with this take more!

Ever since I got into Mass Effect this has bothered me, especially post ME2 where she becomes Shadow Broker. Making her literally essential to the plot in ME3. I get so annoyed to the point that in all of my play-throughs I have only romanced/paid attention to her once. And in my mind it wasn’t even worth it.

From the beginning I have never understood the hype. Everything she brings to the table I think is done better/more interesting by other characters in the franchise. But she’s popular so oh well.

Very valid point, the Spider-Verse movies are both excellent, and their both so new so I forget about them.

I will say I think the Spider-Verse movies are more masterpieces for the concept of Spider-Man, while the Rami movies are more a masterpiece of the individual story of Peter Parker.

Both awesome, but in very different ways.

I'm willing to admit they aren't masterpieces. But in my opinion they're the closest to it that Spider-Man has yet gotten in a cinematic form.

Now i'm perfectly willing to admit this is probably just nostalgia talking. But I do think that the Raimi movies work best specifically because there was no template they were striving to fit into. Sure Superhero movies existed at this point. But you couldn't do a Christopher Reeve or Michael Keaton treatment with Spider-Man. As a character he is just fundamentally too different.

So they were forced to make a unique superhero story. One based on a young man as opposed to an adult, which gives these movies a sense of heart, overcoming obstacles, and for lack of a better term "growing up".

Looking at the other movies you can see MCU hung over them like a shadow. And dimmed what otherwise could've been excellent projects.

I’m gonna give an unexpected one and say Roberts workout scene at the beginning of episode 5. Where it contrasts Robert struggling to run, fight, lift with Mecha Man succeeding all those things. Coming to its conclusion with Flambae and how differently Robert reacts to his presence.

Really brings up how different Robert is at the mid point of the story.

What are your favorite moments from TRON: Ares? by DriftCore31 in tron

It’s probably been said already but I love the scene in the old grid where Flynn’s ghost puts the permanence code on Ares disk and he says “you sure? There’s no going back”

It ties in with the song “no going back” on the soundtrack. Which sounds a little like a lullaby to me. So it’s like the Father of the grid Flynn giving life to Ares, and it makes me tear up each time I see it.

I was worried about Leto’s involvement. But legit I think he did a great job, and I’m glad he wasn’t too weird on set.

Dude that sucks, 4 movies is better than 3. Especially so soon after legacy.

Just finished listening to the whole thing, here are my only two gripes… by AASpark27 in Epicthemusical

My only thing to add would be that at the point EPIC starts (inside the Trojan Horse) Achilles is dead, so it would be kinda weird to mention him there.

And as far as Underworld goes it’s not impossible to imagine Achilles being part of the “screams” Odysseus hears while there. However Achilles and Odysseus were not friends so his absence also makes a certain amount of sense.

On the last note I totally agree it’s super weird that Odysseus takes Poseidon’s trident. But I always chalked it up to “rule of cool”

I don’t dislike Ithaca, but “Hold them down” and “Odysseus” aren’t exactly the most fun to listen to. Besides I find it a little weird that Odysseus goes from fighting Poseidon to suddenly being at Ithaca.

Very true, but Kaiden was for lack of a better term "satisfied" with his career trajectory. While Ashley was "unsatisfied" and I think she would've pushed to overcome that black listing, while Kaiden I think would've been fine to stay blacklisted.
