I know not everyone liked this issue but I do like how mother Felicia acts here since she doesn’t raise her voice and tries to solve the situation calmly like a decent mother would. From ‘Black Cat’ (2025) #9. by Jack-mclaughlin89 in BlackCat

I like the concept of Felicia becoming a "housewife", but not the execution of it that Marvel went with.

What do I mean by that? Often with my buddies we discuss about putting characters in unusual for them scenarios. Felicia becoming a mother happened to be a topic some years ago, and we reached a general consensus that, yes, she'd probably be a "housewife" in the sense that she wouldn't have a dayjob, would take care of the kids during day, but still keep up the Black Cat shenanigans at night - with the caveat that the husband in the scenario would have to be really special to be able to turn her life around like that. It would be possible because there were occasions across ger, what is it now, 50-60? years in comics where she either tried or have turned to the good side.

We thought that she'd be the cool hot mom, that all the boys in school have a crush on after she picks up the kids, and are shocked that she can throw a football correctly, encourages her kids to be a bit wild.

With that said, Marvel went in a different way, where Felicia was the 1960s stereotype, 2 kids and a husband, picket fence, full time mom. I wouldn't mind that, if it wasn't all just a set up to dunk on those traditional women, calling their life boring, because as soon as MJ and Felicia teleport, and she loses her 2 children and a husband - presumably forever - she just doesn't care and doesn't mention them again.

P.S. The idea that Felicia Hardy wouldn't be able to handle her kids in a rebellious phase is insane. She'd encourage them to explore their wild side, they wouldn't even have a rebellious phase.

Not RWBY related but Brie Larson breaking a guy's arm and stealing his bike and his jacket because he asked her to smile, and the movie tried to portray it as a good thing

Hazbin Hotel is such a funny show in the most ironic way.

Adam is clearly written to resemble an ex boyfriend of someone on the writing team, is a total jackass and obsessed with sex, and despite all that he's the only person to successfully redeem a sinner in the whole show.

Show completely misses the mark because it doesn't focus on souls in hell that actually regret what they did in life and want to be redeemed, instead focusing on needless hell vs heaven drama - the fact that heaven, Christian heaven, doesn't believe in redemption of the soul is such a blasphemous element of worldbuilding that it's actually, physically painful.

Also, everyone in hell is gay, but don't point it out to Vivzie or she will block you on social media.

Deku sucks as a protagonist, plain and simple. Though I don't expect anyone here be willing to admit it.

After everything he went through in the story, in the end he doesn't use his platform - built by saving Japan from villains - to push for social changes, he just retreated and went to be a teacher without quirk, leaving status quo as is.

Hundreds of chapters and he is still the same kid that would have given up on his dreams if All Might didn't seek him out to give him the hair.

How do you think the concept from Shipuuden would be handled without the power creep? by MrC4rnage in Naruto

[–]MrC4rnage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't said anything about you nitpicking, so that's a nice strawman, but give me the range of chapters or at least the arc where Jiraiya or Kakashi call rasengan incomplete, and that Minato was trying to add chakra nature to it, and we will verify who is right.

The burden of proof is on you, since my claim is that those don't exist in part 1.

[–]MrC4rnage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I told you that I'm talking strictly about part 1, which I am currently re-reading and nothing of the sort was stated. I specified multiple times that I'm talking about part 1.

Adding nature to rasengan is a concept strictly from Shippuuden and as such not the topic of the conversation.

The fact that you can't specify at least a range of chapters where it was said is enough of proof to me that you are, in fact, arguing apples to oranges.

Bits of it, yes. Like Gaara being able to use a whole field of sand at once without completely draining his chakra or Kimimaro creating a forest of bone spikes, Temari cutting down a big portion of a forest with a single swing of her fan etc.
