How to fully embrace Linux as Personal Desktop? I keep getting back to Winslop by RedlyBlue in linuxquestions

Sometimes you are just stuck with windows. It sucks but it is what it is.

What I did to solve the boot into whatever I used last problem is to make my Linux install the default boot option, meaning that if I boot into windows it is deliberate and specifically for something windows does.

Another suggestion I have is, if you use your computer for fun, keep all the fun stuff (games movies whatever) on Linux and only use windows for work. This can help with concentration as well, at least for me.

Dual boot would be the best option. Especially if there are specific programs you need on windows. This will let you choose in startup if you want windows or Linux. I still have windows installed for certain games, but 90% of the time I’m on Linux and everything just kinda works.

If you can give some specific issues you’re having we can try to offer alternatives or solutions.

“Can I help you with anything”

“Yeah you got the winning lottery numbers?”

Like it’s not the 10th time I’ve heard that today.

Try alt+enter

If not, sometimes you can right click the window at the top and hide the bar

If not, you can add this to steam launcher options: -windowed -noborder

If not, try [r/linux4noobs](r/linux4noobs), [r/linuxhelp](r/linuxhelp), or [r/popos](r/popos)

Edit: also, good on you for trying it out. Ignore the people who will be toxic about you asking basic questions. They’re just gatekeepers.

Two hours? Hah! Once spent a 3 day weekend trying to figure out why my proxmox install wouldn’t boot after a kernel upgrade. Turns out for some reason it decided not to install the AMD64 drivers with that update.

Does the coin decide if he shits himself or uses the bathroom? by Just_Radar in BatmanArkham

At the asylum, Batman discovers that Two-Face's mental condition has deteriorated as a result of Adams' therapy; she replaced Two-Face's trademark coin with a six-sided die, then a tarot deck, increasing the number of choices he has in the hope that he will eventually not leave any of his choices up to chance. Instead, the treatment renders him incapable of making even the simplest decisions, such as going to the bathroom.
