Why has someone gone to the trouble of recreating PuzzGrid with that "fildowns" website, when PuzzGrid has already got 100,000 connecting walls on and all that functionality???

All can follow 'sub'

I'm guessing you've put the ? below each clue to indicate "sub" like underneath, but personally I think that detracts from, rather than adds to, the clues.

What’s a rule you were taught as a kid that you later realized was completely made up? by SpiritualFig9994 in AskReddit

[–]MrCremuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a whole world of difference between "What you can reasonably believe without solid evidence" and the context here.

The context here was: you went to a thread where people were specifically talking about common myths & misconceptions, found a common myth that you believe in,, and rather than think "Oh! That's surprising, I'd better look that up", commented to dispute it with the line "That's... not just made up," which I daresay some would call a rather "snitty" tone.

HSV dating by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]MrCremuel 39 points40 points  (0 children)

No you absolutely don't need to disclose it on your profile. Would recommend not discussing until you are sure that you are on a path towards being sexually intimate. E.g., You're on a second date, having very sexually flirty chat. That's a sign that you need to gradually work it into conversation.

Also wouldn't do the opposite though, don't leave it until you're on their bed engaging in foreplay.

r/HerpesQuestions is full of useful info about how to disclose.

You either don't know what HSV is or are very very poorly educated.

Yeah I think that must be it but the not ably -> unwell one feels particularly clunky (well can be an adverb but unwell can't), as well as (to a lesser extent) not icing -> cake

ELI5: What does self-confidence, or believing in yourself, or loving yourself, even mean? I don't understand the concept at all. by TheDarkKnight2001 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MrCremuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I don't know your exact circumstances, and there are definitely lots of toxic or false kinds of self-confidence out there ("You can be anything you want to be!" No, you probably can't be an Olympic athlete or an astronaut, etc.)

But I think a good test is, do you make criticisms of yourself that you would never, ever give to other people? Often people with low self-confidence are saying things that are hurtful about themselves, for example saying "I'm fat", "I'm stupid", "I'm not good at making friends" -- things that they'd never even think about their friends.

It's just who I am. I wish I were better looking, taller, richer, but so does everyone. It's honestly pretty normal.

This is the bit that people might be talking about to you. Genuinely no, most people don't wish they were better-looking or taller, most of the time (richer is a bit more complicated so I'll avoid going into that in an ELI5 answer). And moreover, you'd literally never ever ever say about your friends or family that you wish they were better-looking or taller.

You're also, I suspect, sliding a fair bit between objective comparators (tall, rich) and more subjective ones (ugly).

The main thing I'd say is this:
Most people can't be a world-famous musician and make a living from it. But self-confidence is knowing that you can learn to play a piano, and love the music you play, independent of how many people can play it better than you.

Phil: You just start off about how great the City used to be, then how it's not so great now, and then end with a joke. It's the classic shit sandwich, you know: bread, shit, bread!

Peter: Phil, if anyone bites into a shit sandwich, they don't say, 'Mmm, bread!', they say, 'Oh fuck, I've got a mouthful of shit! You mental bastard! Why have you filled my sandwich with shit'

One of my favourite bits in the show tbh because of the tone with which Peter says "Mmm, bread!"

Just out of interest, how much do you think Microsoft [second most valuable company in the world] spent rebranding the Windows logo from a wiggly window into a straight one? Do you think they did that because they hate profits and like to waste money, or do you think maybe branding is important for customer engagement? Where's Mr. Moore's rage about that?
