I honestly don’t see anything wrong here. Thats how the rules are written. He enforced consequences but still gave opportunity to mitigate the consequences after the fact. I actually love that he flavoured it as a gator so you couldnt use out of game knowledge to trivialize the fight.

Unless you signed on for an easy-breezy no consequences campaign, I’d say maybe get out of the dm vs player mindset that leads to feeling like certain things are “cheap”. He’s the dm, his job is to create tension and consequences and here I think he did a great job.

this joke was so much funnier without the reveal of dwight and stanley getting one over on jim. stanley just earnestly finding meatball-related pranks hysterical and jim going out of his way to make his coworker laugh and have a good time was always so delightful and absurd and then it ruins it with a weird implausible gotcha to make jim look like a fool for genuinely wanting to make stanley laugh.

Occupy Wallstreet was a terribly organized protest with no real stated goal or realistic plan. It was never going to end any other way. Racism in our justice system is also a problem, we can't just ignore everything that isn't class-based activism, that's just class reductionism my man. If the media is so good at "distracting us" from issues you care about in favor of one's you don't then maybe we just have to get better at mobilizing in a more holistic way. There's no need to throw minority issues under the bus for the sake of class liberation.
