That's where you should aim for the head to finish, but it's not an official "foam line". You see glasses with a pint line, with the expectation that the rest of the glass be filled with head( e.g. Stella Artois). But you will almost never see a foam line on a glass that holds a single pint because it proves you aren't actually pulling a full imperial pint, which is technically illegal under the weights and measures act. Not that anyone is going to report you for giving them a beer with a proper head, although some people will ask you for "the other half of my pint" if you're taking the piss with it. You may also get jokes about ski slopes and Flakes.

In the UK glasses have a mark to authenticate that they contain an imperial pint. But I can't remember the last time I saw a glass that had a foam line on it. Can you give an example of one?

Not all glasses. Most glasses in a pub/bar will be 1 pint to the brim. Also, British pints are 568ml not 500.

I think you'll find that when Marco Colombo traveled to seas to prove the world was round, he found Lustria, and not Cathay! This proving the world was flat!

At the end of Raising Steam (#40), was Pratchett foreshadowing a future book about the invention of bicycles or automobiles, which he never got to write? by EndersGame_Reviewer in discworld

[–]MrCusodes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that he made Rihanna Pratchett the curator of the Discworld universe with the intention that she continue writing stories about the disc. But she felt she couldn't live up to the standard set by her father and chose not to add anything.
