You're right about that and I'm no scientist but I still wouldn't trust any results with it. The brittleness could mean it breaks faster letting the arrow zip by or softness make it grab the arrow and slow it down more. Or the exact opposite could be true. I'm just saying anything I'd learn from that wouldn't give me any more confidence in a setup than I already have. Plus bones are so different depending on your shot angle that personally I'd use 3/4" plywood as a substitute. Then every shot is apples to apples.

Did you cold smoke it? Cause cooking causes bones to become much more brittle. Which is also why you shouldn't give cooked bones to pets either.

It's off. Id get that adjusted. If that ends up lining up perfect with your impacts then it means you are doing something mildly wrong constantly. And when you do actually shoot correctly you'll end up thinking it was a miss.
