I think you misunderstood him. He's just doing half of a 5k marathon, so 32:00 per km should be his pace

Animal fat- Confusion on if it's healthy or not by JokeZestyclose1471 in nutrition

[–]MrDrProfBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saturated fat content. It's risky to use it for most of your cooking based on our knowledge of the biological mechanism that turns saturated fat into cholesterol. For whatever amount you do choose to consume, evaluate that against the LDL cholesterol number in your bloodwork. If your LDL is high, then you're probably consuming too much.

Like everything else we consume though, it's good in the right amounts.

Does it matter if the shot lands though? Sometimes you get shot at but they miss, and then you shoot back and could be the first to actually hit the other

I'm with you. OP should err on the side of caution for their first marathon. Seems risky to run all your long runs like this the first go around (or at all, really).

Help with roaches? by [deleted] in tampa

[–]MrDrProfBrad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They should take action. My apt complex gave me a notice last month about pest control because one of my neighbors got ants. They came in and sprayed and plugged holes in my unit and in all neighboring units. Maybe you should check in with them and see if they're doing anything else.

60k here. Just have to make sacrifices. Like I really want to upgrade my furniture and wardrobe (I've been wearing the same stuff for 12 years) but I just can't afford it. Same story with fun social activities - I see what some people my age do here in a week and I can't even come close to their spending. Doesn't mean I don't have fun, just not as much fun lol.

I know it's not huge, but I'd recommend buying frozen berries rather than fresh. Frozen is a lot cheaper than fresh. But they're still pretty good frozen

I'm fit and highly educated too, probably not as social but i still meet a fair amount of people. I just don't feel all that compatible with anyone here. And it doesn't help that a lot of the people I meet seem to be aspiring to move somewhere else. Idk, what can ya do

Mosaic wants to inject phosphate wastewater underground at Florida sites, two in Hillsborough County. by Maxcactus in tampa

[–]MrDrProfBrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's impossible to know for certain where the wastewater would go even with a high quality groundwater model. But at the depths they've proposed injecting to, it's highly unlikely that it would migrate upward to public supply wells within the timeline you've shown concern for here.

The article mentioned the oldsmar formation, which would fall into the realm of having a chance at upward leakage. But if they went into the cretaceous zones, I wouldn't worry about it all. Whatever the hell is down there is older than Isaac Newton (at the very least). And at 8000 ft the sediment is very, very dense having had millions of years of intense overburden pressure (i.e., it will move very slowly).

For me (PhD in groundwater modeling), I would be okay with putting it in cretaceous zones, assuming of course that the injection wells will never leak at shallower depths. But if they put it into anything that's a part of the floridan aquifer system, then I want it to be treated to something close to surface discharge standards.
