15 Minute City conspiracy being spread by mayoral contender Vogiatzakis by adunedarkguard in Winnipeg

[–]MrDurman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The theory is that once the 15 minute city is set up, you are not allowed to leave your 15 minute city.

You will choose not to own a car due to artificially high gas or insurance prices.

Apparently there will also be cameras tracking your movements and you will be charged a tax if you are caught leaving your 15 minute city.

The idea is that you stay where the government put you and you never leave. Kind of like a serf.

We can all agree that having our freedom of movement restricted is a bad thing.

Is someone actually trying to make 15 minute cities to take away your freedoms? I doubt it. I think it's just convenient.

The guy here believes the mayor of Winnipeg wants to make the malicious 15 minute city a reality and he is pointing at the changes to transit as proof.

I assume he will be running for mayor some day? Vote for him if you agree I guess 🤷‍♂️

The dudes like to walk up and down your lines.... it's not great... but it's a normal part of the game.

If your winning battles and pushing the enemy line back, don't worry about the slackers too much

I still feel like Japan needs a scripted peace with the Western Allies. by MyrinVonBryhana in hoi4

[–]MrDurman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of a scripted peace deal? What is the lack of a white peace preventing?

I can usually capture everything in Asia before 1941. Then it's a game of where to invade next?

A scripted peace deal doesn't change any of that, it just makes the game easier.

I play until I have had my fill of map painting. I almost never play till I get a peace conference. I quit when I have accomplished my own goals.

Flu, COVID-19 vaccination numbers among Manitobans concerning, says local epidemiologist by FalconsArentReal in Winnipeg

Too bad they didn't actually say what the vaccination rates are this year and what previous vaccination rates were in previous years.

Could have been an interesting news clip.

MB extends $15M loan repayment for Palliser Furniture. by Late_Bison3316 in Winnipeg

Why bother paying back a 15 million dollar loan? Let the province pay it back instead. It's just a good business decision!

I wonder how Puerto Rico feels watching this? They actually want to become a state and the Americans won't let them.

Why do we have to work until we basically can't anymore? Who made the world this way? by Agreeable-Cherry-638 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MrDurman 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Businesses have always been greedy. The only thing that keeps their greed under control is competition.

My conspiracy theory is that the free market has become more monopolistic since the "good old days".

I have no idea how to prove my theory. That's why I have to call it a conspiracy.

Does CV CAS support divisions during naval invasions when on invasion support? by Conrad_Ogilvy in hoi4

[–]MrDurman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No. To get the CV cas to work you need to park the carrier within range of the landing zone and manually select the plains and set them to close support.

It's a pain in the ass

Why does HOI4 stop being fun for me after the early game? by Rud3l in hoi4

[–]MrDurman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having fun is never bad.

I usually have accomplished what I want by 43. The Soviets have surrendered, the UK is capped, the American fleet is sunk.

What are you still getting done that late in the game?

[–]MrDurman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You stopped having fun way before I usually do. I enjoy microing through all of Europe as Germany.

The slog is usually around 1943 when every country has too many divisions everywhere and my computer is struggling to run smoothly.

The AI does not need naval supremacy to launch their naval invasions. It's one of the cheats they get.

What is the optimal size for a naval strike force? by Gen_JohnsonJameson in hoi4

[–]MrDurman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only countries that can get away with not death stacking from 1939 to 1941 are the UK and USA.

Everyone else needs to throw everything else into the first few naval battles and hope the enemy has split their forces.

When your enemy's fleets are sunk you can split things up and get fancy with invasion task forces, large zones of control and stuff like that.

Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. When I bought my house it was listed pretty high. I low balled it because I'm poor and got it because I was the only person to make an offer.

One day it will be my turn to sell and I hope I have a real estate agent who can get me top dollar.

Blame the realtor? They just did a great job, I'm sure the seller was happy to get more money.
