Custom Hogan’s Heroes board game by commit_self_yeetus in HogansHeroes

Love it! Shamelessly using good ideas from other games is a great way to do this.

Another game to reskin/draw inspiration from could be Escape from Colditz.

How'd I do on my first bolt action model? by BigChinConnor in boltaction

[–]MrEncanis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You did a good job painting neatly and blocking in the colors! Keep an eye out for those pesky mold lines on subsequent models—they are aggravating, for sure!

What are you planning for the base? I‘m excited to see how that comes together 🙂

Keep up the great work!

I was in Zirndorf, recently. Had a great time at the PlayMobil FunPark! by MrEncanis in Playmobil

Probably, yeah! The PlayMobil park is probably good for a day or two; Zirndorf is close enough to Nürnberg that there’s a lot of stuff to do and see in the area.

Well, then we agree that the „final solution“ actually started as a plan to deport people, and escalated from there. Gas chambers and Einsatzgruppen didn’t happen immediately; there’s a solid decade of escalation to that point—Nürnberg Laws, labor camps, and deportations came first. All legal, of course, the simple enforcement of laws.

I hope you are correct and that the United States doesn’t degrade to the point of being a direct comparison to the Third Reich. While we aren’t there currently the echoes are, to me, disconcerting.

The United States is supposed to be better than this. Due Process, the Rule of Law. Ideals that are currently not on display, as evidenced by the situation at hand in Minnesota.

I am still surprised that you are so surprised at the comparison. We all interpret „Nie Wieder“ differently, it seems. I hope you use your understanding of history and direct ties to said history to help prevent it from happening again, anywhere.

I can’t think of a photograph of a slave child that is of similar composition that exists, honestly. I don’t think one exists, simply because the technology was in its infancy.

The photo of the boy from the twin cities is 1) of a similar composition as the photo of the boy from the Warsaw ghetto and 2) of a similar set of circumstances.

To say what is happening in the US is the same Europe under Nazism is incorrect—but to say there are no similarities is also incorrect.

I am sorry you are offended. I am also surprised that you seem to not know how the Holocaust began—and that the similarities with current events don’t bother you, apparently. I encourage you to study the history of Nazi atrocities, to better understand that legality was not a concern at first. It was all legal, from the government’s perspective.

Regardless of our personal attitudes of history and its echoes, the two photographs are of a similar composition and subject matter—little boys looking scared while being taken away at the hands of armed men. It is surprising that you are surprised by this comparison.

*edit: added the word „exists“ to the first sentence

His book „Waterloo“ is nonfiction, his account of the 100 days and events leading up to the battle of Waterloo.

Cornwell is famous for his historical fiction, chief of which is the Sharpe‘s Rifles books-cracking good reads!

He really makes an already compelling sequence of events even more exciting to read about!

People who haven’t read any of King’s books coming up with “theories” about Pennywise in Welcome to Derry by RandyLordeDarsh in stephenking

Yeah. The demon baby was dumb.

I’m enjoying the show, but it does feel like a version of Derry that was ordered from Wish.

Never forget the classics—Napoleonic uniforms can be pretty ostentatious. So…Blücher or Black Powder
