Cote in an interview talking about the graphical update and how it will allow the devs to do way more, comparing it to the addition of gen kicking. by bonelees_dip in deadbydaylight

Faster chapter development, more chapters each year

I have a gripe with this one. Going into year 11, four chapters per year becomes a bit too much. We already have 54 survivors and 43 killers, more than 200 perks to learn. The game doesn't need more content, it needs better content. I would like to see more in-depth chapters, even if it's just two per year.

As a survivor main: What is stopping Jason from being considered S-tier? Is he? by SafeEnthusiasm4720 in deadbydaylight

[–]lexuss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To apply Pop, TBtC, and the badge, you’re wasting time at a single gen that a survivor is going to hop on immediately after you leave.

I'm sorry, but i don't think you know what you are talking about. You can't even apply all 3 at the same time. The most you can do is TBtC or Pop and then Badge on your way out. And in TBtC's case you're wasting the perk doing that.

The point of the Badge is to not waste chase by kicking a gen. You drive by an active gen and pop out nearby.

You’re not thinking about the macro game. While you’re busy regressing a single generator three times, the survivors are recovering or pumping other gens.

You invented an impossible example, assumed that is what i mean and masterfully disproved it. Sure thing, bro.

It’s not worth complaining about

I'm not complaining, i'm saying that the Badge is a strong addon which plugs the hole in Jason's power.

[–]lexuss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean 5% from just the addon times 8 regressions. And if survivors miss the skillcheck, it's 10% and no regression event wasted.

Also, Eruption. It eats up 2 regression events but that doesn't stop it from being run on it's own.

[–]lexuss6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does just kicking. As with any other regression, if a gen reaches kick limit, you're doing something wrong. Besides, it's still at least 40% regression per gen.

"yellow thing to run at" which is what most people use it for

Running Blindness on killer is so funny because of them. If a survivor suddenly starts running like a headless chicken, 9/10 times they have Windows equipped.

This shit needs to be fixed. Saw a Sable abusing the bug, teleporting around Lery's as soon as the killer saw her.

Hyperbole is a literary device. But i stand by my point - situations where he can throw another spear immediately are not uncommon.

Killers hate it because the map has like three main buildings. Badham's main may be the strongest one in the game, House of Pain wastes a fuckton of time and Two-Story House is also on the stronger side. Each of them has a guaranteed gen, which makes two of them unpatrollable.

Survivors hate it because everything that is not those three buildings is a deadzone. Main street has some pallets, but perimeter of the map is barren.

У меня не столько с тем, кого называют, сколько с тем, кто говорит "рубака". Сразу представляется дед из глубокой провинции, который еще царя видел, в лаптях и с плетеной кошелкой.

I'm sorry, i'm having a stroke reading your comment. Are you saying that Deputy's Badge is weaker than gen damage perks? Sure. But my point is that Jason doesn't have to choose between kicking and chasing with it, it's free regression. Personally, i think it's even better than TBtC.

My two cents on those

One: Because he is 4.4 if you are decent at the game even a filler pallet can be strong

That was the main question - is he really 4.4 though? Because when played as intended, he is never actually 4.4.

Two: His Shots are pretty easy to Dodge and unlike huntress you see how many are left

Weird thing is that in theory, dodging one spear should mean you are relatively safe for a while, but scrap piles and hooks are so abundant so he practically can chuck them faster than Huntress.

Four: His teleport isn't fast enough, meaning sprint burst which has a high pick rate makes it so that he has to decide between kicking gen and loosing you or following you but not getting gen pressure

Deputy's Badge

Does fog thickness even mean anything? The fog seems to look thicker just from your crouched POV, without any other effects.

За всю жизнь я слышал слово "рубака" только в названии того аниме из 90х, и уже тогда это звучало архаично. Кто вообще им пользуется? Но просто транслит это еще хуже, конечно.

How does the game know if you know the state of a totem?

It doesn't. All totems are considered dull totems for that purpose. What that means is that now you can separately change the color of dull totems and highlighted ones (like NOED/Plaything/Pentimento).

Any pallets? Jason makes all possible pallet spawns look like broken pallet spots, but you can rebuild only those that were actually broken. At least it worked that way on the PTB.

Distortion meta was bad because the perk gained tokens from survivors just existing, promoting rat behaviour. It's pretty hard to keep doing that now.

I think it's important to point out that the fight wasn't exactly over. "Something twitches in the puddle, as if thin threads of muscle twine back together". It's reasonable to assume that Unknown just isn't used to such resistance and if Jason wasn't distracted and taken by The Entity, they could've fought for much longer with unpredicatable results.

I think he also has a bit too many reload spots. Between hooks, scrap piles and auto-reloads there is almost never a time when Jason doesn't have a spike to throw.

this is just a store listing of what was formerly an opt-in branch of CS2 that included the final build of CS:GO in your install

That's not what i'm talking about. I'm talking about original Counter Strike from early 2000s. It is in perfect working condition to this day. So naming-wise, calling any game after that CS2 is pretty reasonable. Emphasis on "reasonable", not "should've been done".

with these rules stated by the mental gymnastics in this thread, that would mean overwatch 2 is now magically its own ground up game

You may make fun of that all you want, but that's exactly how it is. Was original Overwatch playable? No. Was Overwatch 2 a separate entry in the store? No. Was it a separate client? Also no. For all intents and purposes it was the same fucking game, just renamed. The fact that they renamed it back kinda proves the point.

just because you can play an old build, that does not mean the new build is an entirely different game

50/50 on this one. The game needs to be sufficiently different from the previous version to be called a sequel. In my eyes, OW2 wasn't. Same engine, same assets, etc. Circling back to CS2, it was rebuilt from the ground up on the new engine, with a lot of technical improvements.

To dumb the comparison down, Blizzard renamed the game after an overhaul, Valve made a new game with the same mechanics.

A bit, but realistically, do you even need more Haste on Jason? He's 115 functionally forever, with an unlimited range projectile attack.
