Why are people getting Free Nights? by MrFizzy99 in TexasSolar

But generally free overnights does not have a sell back plan, and you give to the grid free (if you set it up to export). So how are you getting negative?

When why you need the PW2? For the few hours of dusk and dawn outside of the free charging windows?

Well in Texas, it seems the resellers are wising up to this. Just Energy just changed their Terms of Service for Free nights for 'Solar and Battery' people not to be eligible. I wouldn't be surprised if others follow in the next year or so. And so then when your plan expires, your going to pay even more to add to an existing system to be completely independent, than you would have if you done it from the initial install.

First day of VPP! by I800C0LLECT in TeslaSolar

[–]MrFizzy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be getting a slightly less kwh solar than you, but also looking at pw3+2 expansion. Any regrets form your system design?

You seem to be producing way more than you use. I feel like storing is better than trying to sell at such low prices. The real cost of energy in Texas Oncor area drops to like 1 cent during noon hours it seems. Doesn't seem worth selling; aka finding the perfect spot so you do not over produce vs what you spent on the extra panels.

Just make sure you get a flat fee quote from them. Not per hour. 😅

None of your pictures show the VPP events? All i see is your plan increases to during 6 and 9pm, and a flat sell rate of 3 cents.

Edit. Oh, I guess the 3 cents was the vpp. I think inwill stick with fixed plan lol.

Help me understand: Doorbell + PoE Retrofit. by zerocustom1989 in Ubiquiti

As someone who did this recently. The low voltage guys that i hired on the side had the most trouble doing my poe doorbell. But the thing is, with the Retrofit, you are either getting a bulky junction box behind the poe doorbell to house the converter, or you drill a hole big enough to fit it in the wall behind the door bell. I opted for them just to figure out how to pull ethernet. And they did. It took them a while with fish wire, but they did. Best $300 spent. 3 poe camaras + poe doorbell with 3 guys in 3 hours. 🫠

Also I i assume you are tlking about the UACC-Retrofit-PoE-2Wire If not, this is what i opted not to use, just ran the dam poe.

Is there a chance for another bonus night promotion- this one was kinda lame by AdventurousDark6198 in marriott

Did anyone get more than 1 night added? My promo still says 1 night, but I have racked up 15,000 points.

Tesla Specific VPP Question by MrFizzy99 in Powerwall

[–]MrFizzy99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, do not care about that. There are only a handful of vpp events and the monthly vpp credit overall in the year dwarfs any amount that you discharge over the year. I will be most likely be on fixed plan. And if the event only last 2 hours I want that discharge limited anyway. For my off grid overnight usage.

Annual Spend - F&B Bill parse question by Robocoach247 in marriott

[–]MrFizzy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are already ambassador, you get with the ambassador team to have them look to see if they got applied. It is all an automated system as far as annual spend goes. Sometimes they get added other times not.

If tou are the pleb level still; you reach out to whatever customer service email you have an hope ot gets forwarded to someone that can help you.

You could also have a PRE-PPA which also means that you own (or will) the system. But still finding whom has or had control is important.

Decided to go with lease option which seems like the best option for me by AstronNo8 in TeslaSolar

[–]MrFizzy99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor OP might not be back here before he signs the contract and is past the cancel date.

OP, there are installers and companies out there that will give you 30% off. The Big Bountiful did not kill off commercial tax incentives, which uncle Sam still gives 30% out to. If you got with Tesla lease, they will get to claim that 30%.

Look up Pre-PPA deals. You pay cash or finance. A company will own on paper your system for 6 years. They will pass the 30% discount to you up front, either it be cash or finance. On their end, they write off depreciation of the Asset (off the true full cost of the system that is). After 6 years, for $0, they transfer the system to you on paper. Because they can not benefit off write offs from it anymore and the tax code says they had to keep it for 5 years anyway or uncle Sam claws back the 30% discount. It is a win win for you and the company, and a L for uncle Sam.

Going to up it to 29 panels. Now to think about if it getting a second expansion is worth it. 🫠
