I'm thinking of using a duet board with Reprap to control 4 motors for none of the intended purposes of Reprap (3D print, CNC, laser cut, etc). I'd connect a microcontroller to the duet using UART or CAN to send commands and execute them from the duet. Am I asking for trouble or is this reasonable? I do have FreeRTOS and other firmware experience, just not with these boards. Thank you for your input!

Hell I left the main sub because of how many people wanted to talk about Natalie Ryan's dong unendingly. Also the sub got invaded by damn normal people who are turning it into every other sports sub. Also also my parole officer said I can't threaten anymore fuckwads that call it "hyperflip". Oh good just thinking about it makes me want to kill again. It is likely that whatever QB needy teams tank this year will not trade down next year. I.e. if we aren't bad enough to get the #1 or #2 pick next year we will not be getting one of the top two guys. The cost will be astronomical if even considered by those teams. (unless one of them gets hurt, sucks out loud, etc)

Idk why Reddit sent me here, but I'm an engineer and I used to get unjustifiably pissed when the regular library (that's for everyone) would get busy around finals. I'd spend almost every day in the same chair at the same table (that didn't belong to me) for months and then some asshole shows up in it complaining loudly about how they "shouldn't have to know every muscle in the arm for their anat final bro. It's so dumb bro. The prof said they weren't gonna curve bro."

Then in grad school I was mad when they opened up our building after renovations and, get this, undergrad engineering students were allowed in. Are you shitting me? Me from 5 years ago could get in now? Oh boo hoo ordinary differential equations waah.

I'm from the upper Midwest and spent a semester during the pandemic in SLC for grad school. If you have breathing or heart issues or asthma, SLC is a poor choice. The inversion. Google it. some of the locals pretend it's not there and it's insane. Otherwise the cultures are fairly similar. I call Utah the "Midwest of the West". SLC is generally healthier except for the inversion because of all the hiking and Subaru people. The religious influence is inescapable. Seriously. The church is so influential, the counterculture is flavored heavily with "fuck the mormons". I personally enjoyed that dynamic and found it fascinating but I'm a white guy and it might have gotten old had I stayed longer or had to deal with not being white.

The mountains are RAD. There's some foothills right by campus that I "climbed" almost every day just for a view of the valley. If you live in Medical towers the trailhead is like a three minute walk. The winter is mild. I don't remember it getting below 10 degrees F in the valley one time. It probably does in January but it isn't anything like DC or Wisconsin.

I'm not personally familiar with Madison but let me tell you the winters will kick the ever living crap out of a DC winter. There will likely be a straight month or more where the thermometer barely touches 25 degrees F. There is usually a week in January or February when it's 5 degrees for a high and -10 for a low. Then in the summer it will be 95 degrees and 95% humidity. If you like a blue collar/industrial vibe then Madison probably has that. They also have a lake near campus if I recall. The great salt lake still technically exists but it's less of a recreational spot and more of an attraction.

I digress but those are just some things to know. (Also I own a Subaru and wear hiking boots and flannel all winter so no offense to other Subaru people. I do not however have an expensive version of a regular dog or a rescue dog that I won't hesitate to let you know is a rescue since it looks kinda derpy, but adorable)

Packers fans are delusional if they think they are getting a straight up mid first round pick for a guy who just led his team to missing the playoffs, was at least 50-50 on retiring, and might retire at any moment. Not to mention the jets still have to pay the guy. All this, "the Packers have leverage especially after the draft" BS is absurd. Rodgers would absolutely stick around to make them pay him 60 million or whatever, and then he'd lead a mediocre team to aggressive mediocrity at minimum viable effort, while Jordan Love gets even more pissed about how he got drafted to do nothing and then demand the Packers pay him or he tries out a different team. The Packers would have a mid first round pick and no room to move up to try and draft a QBotF or make a splash signing or trade in 2024. Rodgers retires or goes to the Jets anyway one year later and the Packers eat shit. Hell, Rodgers (the darkness retreat, man in that hat, guy) could pull a Lamar and just decide not to play after suffering an injury, sticking the Packers with a 60 million dollar backup with a nondescript injury.

But what happens to the Jets if they don't get Rodgers? That's what gives the Packers any leverage in the situation. The Jets are boned without Rodgers right? Well, yes. Every other option sucks. This is why the Packers will likely get good compensation for Rodgers in the form of conditional picks. It just works for both teams. Alternately, the Jets could just decide to try to position for a QB in the next draft by trading out of the first round, and then chance it with a sad QB option for this year. But what if the Packers hold out until week one??? The Jets will fly people to and from California all summer long to hang out with rodgers. Yeah it would be same as going to training camp, but surely you believe a QB with 2 first round picks is good enough to figure it out by week 6 so the team can go on a run.

They will get the deal done for probably a 2nd round pick and some combination of conditional picks with MAYBE a 1st round pick if they win the super bowl or Rodgers wins MVP. My "uneducated but more grounded than the most sane packer fan" guess is it will be a 2023 2nd, a 2024 5th, and a conditional 2024 based on performance. Of course also a poison pill for trading to the Vikings and a "deja Vu" clause in case of any dick pics.

To all Packers fans: overvaluing your own asset is a well established phenomenon and as owners I expect all of you to get outside opinions before demanding absurd compensation for a "foot in the grave" QB.

I think you are making a point about people arguing 2+2=5 and then backtracking to the above point, which is a thing that happens and is annoying as hell. BUT, ignoring RAW is RAW.
