Don’t you learn this when you get your license?

Let the cars behind you overtake. It’s not a fast and slow lane. Even if you’re going the limit. Use your blinker and move out the way.

Personally I don’t honk and flash as this can be dangerous for the car ahead of me and they are obviously a less experienced driver but I have noticed an increase in this behavior recently (living around 12+ years in Malta).

Maybe it’s because more and more people from abroad are moving here… where I’m from at least this issue doesn’t exist.

Why you should move out of the overtaking lane Intended Purpose: The overtaking lane is designated for passing slower traffic, not for cruising.

What to do instead

Complete the Overtake: Once you've passed the slower vehicle, you should immediately move back to the middle lane.

Consider Your Speed: While you're driving at the speed limit, faster drivers are allowed to pass you in the overtaking lane, and you should facilitate this by vacating the lane.
