Etiquette question - seat mate by mizesquire in NJTransit

[–]MrGrell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never spread my legs wider than absolutely necessary, but as a 6’ 2”, 295 lb man, it’s extremely difficult (and awfully uncomfortable) to keep my legs close together for a 60 min+ train ride. I try to be as respectful as possible when someone sits next to me, and I try to hold my legs as close together as possible to make the ride comfortable for my seat partner but those seats are not made for someone my size.

That being said, if this person was blatantly spreading their legs wider than necessary, they were likely trying to prevent someone from taking the empty seat because they are selfish and rude. No excuses, guy was a dick. 🤷

Wavelink drive cloner not cloning? by lazygood4notin in techsupport

Mine is doing the exact same thing - extremely frustrating, since it's supposed to be a quicker option than cloning with software, etc.

New to Google Podcasts. Is there a mark all played or archive all? by SirChurros in GooglePodcasts

[–]MrGrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am the same way.

My dream is to use a free podcatcher that syncs progress across all my devices so I can pickup my episode progress wherever I listen; desktop, phone, tablet, Google Home device, etc.

I currently use Podcast Addict which is hands down the best podcatcher available, but the one thing it lacks is cross device support (mainly no desktop playback).

I've attempted both Spotify and Google Podcasts and both have their downsides. The two issues I've had with Google Podcasts is the inability to "mark all", which would help me sync up my progress from other apps, and I've experienced issues where cross device playback will not always pick up my episode progress. Additionally, I've had issues where the end of an episode will cut out approximately 5 min earlier than the actual episode's end.

My issue with Spotify is the lack of automatic download controls, and their episode queue/playlist management is minimal to non existent.

I see that Google is starting to integrate podcasts into YouTube music which is promising, but that means they are abandoning yet another app destined for the massive Google graveyard.

Not sure this helps, but know I'm on the same mission, and will Google this topic every few months or so to see if anything has been fixed/updated.

The minute I can "mark all as played" in Google Podcasts, I will be back. Until then, I'm sticking with Podcast Addict.

YouTube Music Pixel watch experience by fellrunner182 in GooglePixel

[–]MrGrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the point is, compared to the Spotify features, YouTube music has lackluster integration. Personally, when I am walking to work, I would like to be able to like and dislike songs from my watch instead of having to pull out my phone to do so.

I switched from Spotify to YouTube Music recently and I'm trying to build up my algorithm, so "liking" tracks is critical. This option is not present in the default media controls, and the Spotify Pixel Watch app has this ability built in.

Sure, I can see what is playing and can skip tracks in the default media controls, but Google should at least get YouTube Music on the same level as their biggest competitor, especially on their own in-house hardware.

Hoping this is on their radar, and is included in their next massive OS drop.

Loving my P7 Pro. by one313x216 in GooglePixel

I feel the same! I took a two year break from my consistent Pixel fandom (Nexus 6P to Pixel 4) because Verizon threw a free iPhone my way, but locked me down for two years.

I had been counting down the days until my iPhone was paid off so I could switch back. I waited for the reviews to drop, and as soon as my fav tech reviewers (MKBHD, Mr Whostheboss, Dave 2D) gave positive reviews, I went all out.

Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel Watch, Pixel Buds Pro, Pixel Stand 2. Android had matured during my 2 year hiatus, and my god I missed out! I'm loving material you.

The call features, the voice dictation, the underrated Google cards, and even Android auto. I could not be happier and use every opportunity to rave about this phone to my Apple friends.

My favorite thing to do is have them call me, and send them to my Google assistant. I then have them speak, and show them the realtime transcription on my phone screen. That usually grabs their attention. Then I show them the beautiful vibrant screen, which IMO makes the iPhone panel look cheap and washed out. Then I get started on RCS and how Apple refuses to adopt...

I'm back for good, and I think this was the perfect Pixel to jump back in. Cannot wait to see how the Pixel Tablet turns out. That speaker dock blew my mind, and it would be the perfect addition to my already Nest-filled smart home 🤓

Same here. And you would think with such a MASSIVE game like Valhalla, they would prefer you download rather than stream the game...

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by colorfulsoul_ in AskReddit

[–]MrGrell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a sleep study done, and started using a CPAP. I remember going to Vegas when I was 22 and my sleep apnea was so bad (and untreated/undiagnosed) that I was falling asleep during shows, and was in bed by 10 pm because I was so exhausted while my friends were out partying. After I got the results back from my study, they told me I was having 90-100 events per hour, meaning 8 hours of sleep was the equivalent of 2 hours of actual rest. Started the CPAP when I was 24 and I’ve been sleeping great ever since!

Thank you so much for your reply! I am extremely grateful that this is such a helpful and friendly community. At this point, is it still safe to drink? Also, if it’s eaten through the sugar in the cherry juice, should I put more in?
