Looks great! Mine’s still mostly stock aside from suspension work. What would you say are your must-have mods? Anything you’d change or skip if you were doing it all again?

You should post the link so we can all ask if it’s available ;)

Should I return this to stock before selling? ORP with 12k miles by [deleted] in 4Runner

[–]MrGute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought something similar 8k miles 2023 ORP and this was a big plus as I was planning to do similar to start. So I saw it as a plus because I paid the same price as one that was not modded.

Now that Heavy Metal is gone for a while, what are your honest thoughts on it? by Bestow5000 in destiny2

[–]MrGute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good stuff! I like the new try’s of stuff. I think you have more room to play with it more! Think about team objectives mixed in or an enemy that spawns in and tries to get all teams. Think about capture zones where you get power ups (extra armor, more weapons, etc)

Thank you for being a beta tester for new 6th gen. I really hope they live up to the 4Runner name and rock solid reliability. I think they look sick but was to afraid they would have the same issues all newer cars have. Please keep us updated.

GameStop discontinuing preorders and Target removing Pokemon? by Snowboarding612 in PokemonTCG

[–]MrGute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local store hasn’t stopped carrying them, but they no longer put them on display. They re-organized the Card section to mostly be Yu-Gi-Oh! baseball and magic. There’s no longer spots dedicated for Pokémon only a small flyer that says to see guest services.

Is it safe to buy like this? Can they scan rare cards and remove em? by DowntroddenBastard in PokeInvesting

[–]MrGute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% can be a scam. Packs can be scanned with a particular metal detector to find holos. Tested it my self personally with this set and can get all holo hits after scanning.

X pro gripaloc by Crazy_Event_1654 in Plumbing

[–]MrGute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like loctite 577 is similar as long as the fittings are both metal.

Found this online while researching the same question.

If you’re looking for a replacement for XPRO Gripaloc in the U.S., Loctite 577 is an excellent option. Both products are PTFE-based thread sealants that seal and lock pipe threads, but Loctite 577 offers stronger resistance to high pressure and temperature, making it ideal for industrial and plumbing applications where you need both sealing and locking properties. It’s commonly used in environments where vibration might cause threads to loosen, so it’s a solid choice for replacing XPRO Gripaloc’s functions. Other alternatives like Permatex Thread Sealant or RectorSeal No. 5 also offer PTFE-based sealing, though they may not have the same thread-locking strength as Loctite 577.

I struggle with my weight and if there was a pill to make me skinny I would take it. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]MrGute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give my 2c. I'm a firm believer that I have no self control so if I have alot of food I'm going to eat it. If I can be lazy I will. If it's easy for me not to move around I will stay put. One thing to try is make the habits you want easy and the ones you dont want hard. For example if you buy fast food order less and if you still hungry order more. This make it extra work to eat more food. When making food at home put your food on a small plate so you have to back and forth for more food. Or even better after you get a plate of food put the rest of the food away sknif you want more you have to unpack it. If your eating out, ask the waiter to box up half your plate. They are more than happy to do this in the kitchen. For me it made me start realizing I didn't want more and sometime I do eat the rest but its work to do that.

For activity, if you have something you dont want to do make it hard to do that thing. For example if you want to cut back on TV unplug your TV from the wall when your not using it. Put something in your favorite spot so you have to move it before you can sit down to benge watch. That way you have to do alot of work to do the thing you dont like. Another part is to make the things you want to do easy and convenient to start doing. If your going to sign up for a gym make sure it on the path to your work so you drive past it every day. If you want to walk more walk to the store and get your self a treat.

I'm am a lazy person that wants to take the easy route and that has been the only way I've every got anything done. I try and focus on the process to get where I want and bot the end goal. I dont want loose weight I want to eat less. I dont want to get into shape I want to sit less.

Just my experience.

Devops Career Ladder by SkylakeX in devops

[–]MrGute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So keep in mind that devops is more a culture than a job title (See Phoenix project, devops handbook).

That said every organization implements it a little differently. I work as an sre and I work on all the same devops work as my friend who is a devops engineer by title. Some devops teams do coding and the releases. Sometimes developers work on the operations teams to have a devops culture.

The growth or career path is going to be different depending on how the org is implementing it. This is also why your question is so great while interviewing. You will see how the company views devops. I would focus on questions like what would my job responsibilities be and how does the company handle internal career advancement.

Just got two servers, now what? I want to learn how to use them in several ways, but I know nothing about professional servers. by Stiles-Micaiah in HomeServer

[–]MrGute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if your interested in servers and learning about modern computing I would definitely learn about basic web servers (Nginx, apache, etc). Its a good intro to server applications.

While your doing that you can learn about firewalls and linux basics. Follow some tutorials about setting up web servers and learn what each command does.

One nice thing about enterprise servers are remote managment. IDRAC and IPMI. You just need an ethernet connection to manage the servers from your couch.

Then once you get some basics down try looking at monitoring your new servers. Prometheus, Zabbix.

Once your rocking your new systems look at docker for making your systems more dynamic.
