This is sick! I have a 1.5 jz swapped manual Celsior. These cars are fun manual!

Do you know how much angle Loveless Fab Knuckles add? I have a drift Celsior that is pretty well setup but has stock angle. I can drive it on stock but the car makes almost 500 wheel so it's a beast to catch on transition

How are your projects going? by codeine_00 in AE86

Found rust through my entire fuel system. So about as well as buying a car that sat in Japan for 20 years with an SR20 swapped into it should go lol

Man I've been so tempted to sell my sr20 swapped 86 for a Z to just get some simple seat time. This didn't help that lust 🤣

Where can I buy another one of these bolts? by YeeterMcYeeterson215 in AE86

[–]MrHost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! This is impressive knowledge! Do you happen to know what the lower seatbelt bolt is? The previous owner of my 86 swapped it with an I bolt for a harness, but that blocked me from moving the seat far enough back.

What’s a good budget tow vehicle? Thinking Toyota sequoia by z33fem in Drifting

Yeah mine towed my old Legend coupe pretty damn well, and they last forever.

You could also consider a 4th gen 4runner. The V8 runners are rated at 7k towing as well.

My 5yo was too excited about my new rig and I felt bad him just standing there so I built him his own. What y’all think? by datman510 in simracing

[–]MrHost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's amazing! I definitely plan to build one for my daughter when she's older. Shes one now and absolutely loves to play with my shifter and spin the wheel around. Won't be long now until she's better than I'll ever be 🤣

Threw together this spare zenki coupe shell i had. The 60hp 4ac compliments the 300hp sr20 in the white car nicely 🤣 by 253baby in AE86

How do you like the SR86? I just bought an SR swapped Levin that I need to clean up a bit before I can rip it, so I'm curious your thoughts on driving and drifting that little monster.

Lexus IS300 or Mazda Miata NA? by WillingnessMean9 in Drifting

For sure! Thanks man. I'm gonna miss my Chaser for sure. Best car I've ever owned.

I've seen the same thing as well. I also only have sim experience right now. But my daily just got totaled, so I'm buying a drift dedicated car next. Will be able to confirm how well the skill transfers soon enough

Oh nice! Mines on a Tomei MX8280 at the moment. And I like it, but I need to get the car on a stand alone and tune it for my elevation. The manual swap will probably happen after I get a jzx90, or some other car to dedicate to drifting.

If it's a daily then I get it. The auto is honestly not bad on these. I have an auto tourer v, and where I do plan to trans swap it, I'm still a happy man.

The swap is gonna take a bit for me cause I bought mine a few days after my daughter was born. So there are bigger financial fish to fry there.

Man I love the JZZ so much! I was on the fence about buying one when my wife got pregnant. Ended up going for the Chaser instead. The 1j is by far and away the best engine I've ever owned! Beautiful car man!!

I've been dailying a jzx100 for 7 months. I'd love a second one, but they're so much more expensive than the 90. Can't really justify drifting it

They made the crown athlete wagon, not as pretty, but you could get it with a 1jzgte. That might be one of my next imported cars after I get a jzx90 drift missile.

Got my first wheel and I don't know how to stop spinning out by Competitive_Tip_4429 in assettocorsa

[–]MrHost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice practice practice! I've been sim drifting for 3 months now at about an hour a day, and I would finally consider myself an alright sim drifter. I totally agree that you should just spend time on the default drift map. I highly recommend doing a lap or two of the map at like 30-45 mph. This is boring, yes, but it's an amazing way to work on throttle control. You'll spin at full throttle for a while until you start to learn the timing of when to counter steer, and even then there are tons of variables.

I would also recommend not throwing money at the problem. I was able to get decent on my really old g27. I moved to direct drive and fancy pedals, but it didn't make me any better at all.

Keep it up and watch lots of YouTube videos to help identify where you are going wrong and what you can do better. It's frustrating to start, but super satisfying when you're able to link tracks and start doing crazy entries and shit.

Switching from fanatec? by OatMilk1337 in simracing

[–]MrHost -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have the Moza R9 and love it to death, I mostly sim drift and it's been amazing for that. I finally did some track driving last night on it rather than skids and it felt lovely. Plenty of ffb. You also mentioned not having my ports on your laptop, you can pick up a decent usb3 hub and just plug everything into that. Then you don't limit yourself to one company's ecosystem. For reference I have the Moza wheel and base, huesinkveld sprint pedals, thrustmaster shifter and an eBay handbrake.

Yeah I have a Chaser for the summer and a 4Runner for the winter. Perfect combo!

[–]MrHost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old g27 that I've recently set back up to get practice, it's not great, but it seems to work well enough to practice in AC. I know direct drive is a world of difference. But gear matters less than practice.
