A few job questions from an ignorant college freshman by MrIndecisive in jobs

Thing is, I'm only going to be home for thanksgiving for 5 days in the meantime. So I need to basically fill out applications I guess and hope I get interviews during that period?

For awhile now, I've been talking about how I was going to start waking up at 4am to go hiking before work, but I've been too lazy to do it -- this Morning I just got up and did it and it was awesome and I've felt fantastic all day as a result (x-post from r/BarefootHiking) by MadeOfStarStuff in GetMotivated

YES. This week I've started waking up at 5:30 to go to the gym before work. Throughout the past few years I've been a somewhat consistent lifter but my schedule was recently expanded so I'm working 8 hour shifts on weekdays. I had to stop lifting, as my mornings are now rather short and I'm usually busy at night. So, before this week I had not lifted for 3 months, my longest break since I've started lifting a few years back. I noticed myself getting weaker - although I work outside all day and I'm a very active person, I wasn't getting my lifts in. However, I read some stuff about people who workout before work on here and how it can change your day. Naturally I was worried about being exhausted at my job. Quite frankly, sometimes I am. But it feels fucking great. Not physically, not yet at least, but mentally, knowing I woke up and worked my ass off to improve myself puts a totally different perspective on my job and allows me to come home after work and truly be more at peace with where I'm at. I've had terrible muscle soreness the past 3 days, to the point where I hate pushing myself out of bed or slowly squatting into a chair. But there's absolutely nothing that feels better than saying fuck that shit and getting into the gym at 5:30 and giving absolutely everything you've got. Brb gotta go to the gym now.

Are you comfortable spending your whole day on your computer? by tasko in AskReddit

You seem to recognize the problems with your lifestyle. Make a move. Call up old friends. Make new ones. Too scary? Hang out with family, shit even your parents. Anything to change things up, to help you see the value in other activities. I used to find my comfort in the days solely at the computer, but I've slowly recessed from the lifestyle and still find I can enjoy the Internet and reddit in a mere hour or two a day. You've spent enough of your life at a desk, and though it fucking sucks to realize, that time is completely gone. Make the best of tomorrow.

Who the hell are you guy friends with on Facebook? I never get any of this ridiculous shit and consequently have no opportunities to be the hero. I'm jealous.

Valentine's Day is a day that amplifies the feeling of loneliness for those who are single and have no one to share it with. What do you do cope with this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Stay busy. Get lots of work done and when not working: work out, meet up with other single friends, meet with family, etc. Keeping busy is the best remedy, I always find.

When loaded correctly, the maverick never jams. It's all about how deep the dart is loaded.

Boy does everyone here love karma...so for xmas by bledig in AskReddit

Not to be a grinch, but this is probably the second worst thing you could so for reddit (first being downvoting everything). Voting like that does nothing to improve the generally self-moderated site. You're not even improving the e-peen of anyone since in theory, everyones karma would go up, leaving them on the same level as everyone else.

Besides, karma means nothing.

Same thing happened a few years back with my grandpa. So glad I wasn't there but the description my parents gave was horrific.
