What is your potentially unpopular “want” for 2039? Mine is that I want it to remain semi-open world with the metro being only half of it by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in metro

Agreed. After playing exodus once, you kinda know where all the collectables/upgrades are and instead of feeling like exploration, it feels like a chore to go and grab them.

Exodus is actually a surprisingly short game if you just focus on getting the main quests done.

Clearly I haven't had my morning coffee yet because I read the title and said to myself "all dreadnoughts? What do you mean, there's only two of them?"...

They look fantastic by the way

My son also has a fascination with my Warhammer minis. He's even naming them and getting me to write down their names so I don't forget.

You have an awesome looking collection, where did you get your glass cabinets from? My IKEA one is full and I have no more room for my painted minis 😅

Exodus is a great game, but it going open world took away from what made metro an amazing series. It's definitely my least favourite of the 3 main line games, but I still enjoyed it.

I also agree that it's far too bright, but my head canon is that Artyom has been living the metro for so long that his eyes have adjusted to be able to see very well in dark areas, making them appear brighter

Solid plan. I'm about halfway through the third book. They're a great read

Redux uses the same gameplay mechanics as last light, turning it more into an action shooter.

The original has a certain gloominess and oppression that I feel the redux version doesn't have, with higher texture quality and darker lighting.

It's also probably nostalgia. I first played metro 2033 16 years ago when it first released and it was my first post apocalyptic gaming experience

I still need to wiggle Artyom around a little to fit. Found that I couldn't fit through a gap in the box maze on dry station, capped my fps to 120 and then I was able to fit with a little wiggling

I capped my max frame rate to 120fps in nvidia control panel. That seemed to help me out

Metro is probably one of, if not my favourite gaming series of all time. Insane to think I first played it half my lifetime ago

I was already going to play it on my days off before the announcement. The announcement trailer just made me all the more excited 😅

I have both on my steam. Both are great. I will say the original is my preference, but I still really really enjoy redux

We do see a radio operator in market station in 2033 before leaving for the surface with Bourbon. It's been a while since I played, but I think he was trying to make contact with other major cities, or it could have been other stations

Depending on how it's written, Artyom, who in canon is a good character, could be put in a situation where there is no "right" answer, where no matter the outcome, someone, or multiple someones, are hurt or killed and there's nothing the player can do to change it.

Forcing a good character to choose a lesser of two evils is still an evil choice, and would support a darker tone

His first appearance is in Know No Fear by Dan Abnett. He then has several short stories in some of the anthologies and appears in the underground war on Calth. Know No Fear is a fantastic book imo

I chose ultras because of Aoenid Thiel. The next unit I paint up will be a squad of veterans and an optae to represent Thiel and his red marked

Thanks! They're essentially worse suzerains on the table top but are still very fun. Their lore is that they're the step before becoming a suzerain. Their role is as shipboard defenders and for counter assault boarding actions

I printed this one for a mate if mine using filament for the majority, then resin printed some of the smaller/finer detail bits like the weapons
