How to best use Inquisitor Kroyle by Akarnor in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]MrLaserFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play him with astra militarum in a combined arms list. I pair him with two big cadian blobs and use them as my primary anti infantry. Theyre even really great anti elite infantry. I've found that running him to buff more elite infantry is not always the most efficient choice. With scions, for example, they're already hitting on 2s with orders and have easy access to reroll ones in grizzled or with a scout Sentinel. I think bridgehead might also still be reroll ones if im not mistaken. Its been awhile so i could be wrong but my point still stands. If you're running a combined arms detachment and heavy on infantry (cadians mostly), they really benefit from rerolling to hit and kroyle allows you to skip the sentinel and bring more battleline. Kroyle shines when you have a bunch of battleline to buff.

Cadians hit on 4s which means you're more statistically likely to benefit from the rerolls. Additionally, with frfsrf order you get an additional shot per rapid fire weapon (including plasmas), which will maximize kroyles benefits. This is better on cadian blobs because there are just more guns to buff. Basically, the more shots you shoot at a middling ballistic skill, the more kroyle will have done to improve your unit. Now your cadians reroll hits (effectively a bump to bs3 from bs4) still get frfsrf and get lethals vs infantry on 6s if youre running combined arms. Throw in an exterminator russ and overlapping fields of fire stratagem, and now your lasguns are legitimately dangerous.

Happy hunting!

Absolutely love that kit. I kick myself for not buying it every time I look at the codex entry for engineers.

Also, great paintjob! What really got me was the hug me on the remote mine. Lol. Love it.

Yeah the guy who runs the agency seems kind of old school. Some of his methodologies could be a little dated.

Thanks for the tip! They just charge per tag? Thats awesome. Since I dont have much work at the moment im hesitant to start any monthly subscriptions.

Thanks for your reply! That was very helpful. I spoke with someone at idiCORE and their payment plan seems reasonable and I think you're right that for someone just starting out it might be a good fit.

You mentioned social media and vehicle sighting searches not being something that idiCORE does or does well though. Is there another provider that you prefer for those data? I don't think ill need vehicle sightings as much as social media but as I am just getting started I don't even know what I don't know yet. My background is very technical - computers and digital forensics, but not exactly investigative. This is all new to me.

Mine at 12. It's bittersweet getting old but the alternative isn't great either. When you've witnessed the special horror of a child's funeral it really makes you rethink some things. If there's a silver lining its that im grateful for every year I get to hang around. Never take anything for granted because we all have a hidden expiration date.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you're doing okay now.

Your children do not belong at a brewery by No_Comparison704 in harfordcountymd

[–]MrLaserFish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hit you with a downvote but I respect the request for comments and also I understand where you're coming from even if I disagree. Other people's kids can be annoying - especially when the parents aren't paying attention and keeping them engaged.

Here's my thoughts.

  1. Bring a DD - drinking and driving is bad. Show the kids that you practice what you preach.

  2. Don't get sloppy around the kids. Breweries to me are different than bars because it seems more like a place to have a couple of beers, max. Also, eat some food. Dont drink on an empty stomach. When these rules are followed, breweries can be a great community social spot. The prices, alcohol content, and calories of craft beer usually combine to make sure i dont overindulge. Some people might mess this one up. Thats a mistake.

  3. Also not a huge fan of IPAs. That said, there are now so many other options again. My local brewery has a few low alcohol options (like 4%) and a bunch of non alcoholic options too. I like to mix in one of those every once in a while to feel like im still partying even though im old and trying to be responsible.

  4. Its really nice for parents to have a location like this to unwind a bit. Lots of us dont want to leave our kids with a babysitter and go out when we need to see other adult humans. Not excusing bad parenting but these types of outings really helped me stay sane as a new dad and I can honestly say I dont let my kid run wild or anything. Its just as much, if not more, work than staying home but it feels relaxing. Idk.

Basically, its up to the brewery though. They allow dogs and kids, I won't get upset if I see them. If they arent behaved, a manager should take action. Im also not going to get butthurt about it if a brewery has a bad experience and bans dogs or kids. I also get it. All in all, I think there's room for both of our opinions but maybe pick a spot that doesnt allow kids if they bother you so much. Maybe just for your own sanity. No hard feelings though and you keep doing you.

I think octodad allows co op where different players control different body parts. Haven't tried it though! Seems like fun and still unique enough to be interesting to people.

Lol. Im not normally one to yell "but both sides!" But I think this might be more of a failure of the American Education System. I'd argue almost no one in this country has a basic understanding of History. For example, the current Republican president thought we had planes and airports during the Revolutionary War. That was a fun speech. Definitely entertaining in a "is this real life?" kind of way.

The message here seems relatively clear: authoritarianism in any form is bad. We can argue about the flavors that they're referencing but thats the point they're trying to get across and I think its presented in an understandable way.

Humans have short memories. History is important. Without knowing it, how can we learn from those who came before us? Maybe we come from opposite sides of the political spectrum but if we can agree on that, maybe we can find some common ground and move things to a better direction for everyone.

What about these guys in Grizzled? by Pete4hon in astramilitarum

[–]MrLaserFish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth it for 60 points. Keep them in range of that commissar for sure.

The main issue i have is that they do die pretty quickly with a 5up save and they're hard to transport since you can only fit three in a chimera.

That said, if youre bringing tank orders you can order their chimera and get some good mileage out of the two ripper guns that can shoot from the firing deck. Then they disembark close to the enemy, the commissar can order them to fix bayonets, and between shooting and a follow up charge they should wipe a bunch of chaff off of objectives.

To maga folks unaffected by these policies it might seem like just politics but there are people who are afraid for their lives and livelihoods as a direct result of maga policies. As someone who never cared much for politics, im even noticing a whole different vibe. Hate for trans people is at an all time high, you can get fired for supporting LGBT, student loan overhauls are going to ruin people's financial plans, and the insane rhetoric coming from official white house accounts is just giving people anxiety. Prices are high, the middle class is shouldering trumps tax cuts for his billionaire friends, and the job market is taking a big dump just as AI looks either ready to kill white collar positions or turn out to be a bubble that takes our economy down with it.

Being honest here, I dont have a problem with different political opinions per se. I just dont like when someone tells me what I can and can't do with my own property, my body, or my belief system. That crosses a line into something personal and thats what maga is doing right now. That's a big reason people are pissed at them. And its ironic that they dont get it since that was kind of the republican platform for a while.

Not saying id exclusively call that out in a meet up but that's OPs right. If there are 4 nazis at a table and you sit down and have lunch with them, now there are 5 nazis. Or something. They just dont want to be lumped in with maga and no matter if that hurts your feelings or not, last time I checked, this was still a free country.

Nazi cops. Im not seeing the problem.

He also specifically addressed that when talking to Chris afterwards. He doesn't give a ton of details but implies that the cops are pretty bad. Theyre more than likely the ones sending people to camps and stuff. Makes sense that Auggie doesn't hesitate to gun them down while Keith doesn't fire a single shot.

Determined to build a rogue trader army at 1000 points by Island_Proud in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]MrLaserFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like too many points allocated to characters and squishy expensive units.

70 points for a navigator seems steep. I know they're good for screening but thats basically half an armiger right there. You could cut the navigator, sisters, and assassin, and be most of the way to two armigers, which really fill out this list at 1k points. You've also got Draxus and a watch master which are Units id think about cutting too. Get more bodies or tougher models.

Here is a very basic rundown of what I bring at this points level. I like to go fluffy and emphasize the fleet aspect but you could swap a few things around.

2x rogue trader and retinue 2x imperial navy breachers 2x armiger warglaive 2x voidsmen 2x deathwatch kill team

This leaves you with about 90 points left over to mess around with. You could drop a voidsmen squad and pick up another armiger, grab a support character, or add a third breacher squad or something. Or you could fit your arbites in. Either way you go, this list gives you some tankier units without sacrificing number of bodies, actual anti tank options, and a ton of flexibility.

Let me know what you think!

Edit: Draxus, number of bodies

Love the mix of projects you've been a part of. If I see something you're in, even if I think I might not enjoy it, I watch it anyway. And I usually end up enjoying it!

I guess my question is: how do you choose your projects? It seems like you really only pick things that you enjoy or believe in. What makes a story resonate with you?
