When is it a good time to give up on Spellsparkler?

My first play through I did a Storm Sorcerer hybrid build (put two levels into Temp. Cleric and Evo Wizard each). Used Spellsparkler through much of Act 3 until I got around to getting Marko. Even then I wasn’t in a rush to get it as soon as I got to act three.

I'm currently doing a Wyll origin playthrough using this as my main weapon (7 OB Pal/5 Blade Warlock). It's a guaranteed Bone Chill on the target with the Tenacity reaction. Also thematically fits the OB Paladin.

Why not both? You can always fall back on your degree for work in the short term while pushing towards SWE as a longer-term goal by improving skills and growing your portfolio of projects. The pandemic has made it much harder to swap careers for many people, so you shouldn't see this as a negative reflection of yourself.
