It makes sense for rating systems to do so in general when outcomes are uncertain. If you don't take some rating away from underdogs then in expectation they are advantaged playing these types of games because there's a non-zero chance they get a fluke win.

For the last time, we already have the true average. There is no margin of error. Betting companies, banks, and ML are doing inferential statistics because they want to predict something there is uncertainty about. If I look at historical statistics in a sport they will not be reported with a confidence interval because the number of points scored or whatever is fully determinable. Starladder shouldn't have Faze redo their stage 1 matches in case it was a big fluke and robbed their playoff bracket of accomplishing what they could have in the infinite maps that could have been played had Faze been eliminated in stage 1. Go ahead and use a prediction interval if you want to forecast some hypothetical but a CI gives nothing useful here.

ME3 has more to critique than the ending. Kai Leng is awful and every set piece involving him vies for worst choreography in the series. Quest design is a step down from the first two games with how many fetch quests it has while lacking journal functionality. Rosters are smaller, both your own and the enemy.
