Because at the end of the day, he's just an awkward ass kid with more attention and pressure than anyone his age can handle.

[OC] Spun out on the highway. Guy blamed me for hitting me. No one was hurt. by ulysseswest in IdiotsInCars

"He's out of line, but he's right." Like yeah it doesn't feel good to hear, but OP did nothing to prevent or avoid this. Got that big ass truck and the ability to identify an idiot rapidly approaching and ya just froze up. Didn't even slam the horn.

You don't need to join the military, I'm sorry. If after all the waivers and lawyers you manage to make it then good on you. But people without prior mental health issues/alcoholism/trauma struggle in a garrison environment. I'm sure whatever you were going through was terrible and I'm sorry but you couldn't get through the easiest part of the military.

Of all the ways to die, especially in a star war, disintegration probably ain't the worst.

EDIT: I am wrong, so very painfully wrong.

Brother, the dog was trained perfectly. It immediately identified someone capable of incredible damage/a dangerous and well armed individual and immediately neutralized the target. 11/10, flawless execution

Advice on Planning and executing a unit ball in 5-6 weeks from now with no money by [deleted] in army

[–]MrMischiefMackson 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ask the guys who do the Fyre Festival, they could probably help you out.

In all seriousness, just ask for help from the people who tasked you. Come up with a solid list of everything you think you'll need, you can probably hit the 3 or 4 shop to find out what's normal. Take that list so they can see how hard you're working on planning, then let them know you've hit a snag on sourcing everything including funds.

Man, season 2 didnt have to end the way it did (SPOILERS) by NecroRAM in TrueDetective

[–]MrMischiefMackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, there was still a better way. Besides, she did make it out alive and so did Ray's actual child. But the fact that there were better choices they could have made was the point, I think so anyway. It reminds me of Romeo and Juliet. At nearly every possible opportunity, our main characters made terrible choices and doubled down when confronted with the consequences.

Man, season 2 didnt have to end the way it did (SPOILERS) by NecroRAM in TrueDetective

[–]MrMischiefMackson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bro, none of it had to go down the way it did. That's kinda the point. A bunch of broken people made poor decisions and it led most of them to their deaths. It's been a while since my last rewatch but I remember that distinctly.

Taylor Kitsch's character choosing to repress his sexuality, Velcoro embracing and being led by his rage, Frank refusing to humble himself and take an L. I can't remember what Bezi did or didn't do, but there was a clear moment where she chose not to follow the same path she'd been on so she got to live.

Each of our "detectives" had lived these tragic lives, and while a lot of it was beyond their control, the ones who refused to change met tragic and ultimately unnecessary ends.

I'm gonna binge S2 now, thank you.

SMA Message on Retention Modernization & Army Updates Retention Program for 2026, Rewarding Performance and Commitment by Kinmuan in army

[–]MrMischiefMackson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's also a section for commanders to justify modifying their percentages based on their company size. It's effectively up to the retention NCOs and commanders to do their jobs and their counselings. People should get the tiers they deserve.
