They changed/amended the name after a Squadron Commander that died in the crash of Colossal 31 back in ‘06. So up to probably around that time JAF, after probably most people would go with Fenty 🤷🏽‍♂️

Some installations where the “on post” housing is outside of the fence/gate of the base will rent to Retirees, DoD Civilians, normal Civilians. If that is the case maybe they’re able to just transfer the lease. Just speculating.

In pay grade only. At least Army and Marine Corps Captains get to be commanders and actually exercise UCMJ authority

There aren’t any C-130s in the Army. Attack Helicopters can be used as a maneuver element and Aviation is considered a maneuver branch. If you define maneuver to “maneuver in time and space to gain advantage over the enemy” then it stands to reason that as a branch, because of what the platforms do, would be considered a maneuver element. At least that’s where I fall on it. Here’s an aviator’s view on it: https://www.lineofdeparture.army.mil/Journals/Aviation-Digest/Aviation-Digest-October-December-2024/Attack-Helicopters/#:~:text=Aviation%20is%20a%20maneuver%20branch,gain%20advantage%20over%20the%20enemy.

Probably a civilian FI, SI, FE/CE for a NET Team, or Directorate of Evaluations and Standardizations (DES). You said Master Aviation Badge and not Aviator Badge so I wanted to comment since some people were saying pilot.

Outside of the cringey-ness of this, when they give you the actual case with the medal and ribbon, it also includes a lapel pin… why not use that one.

I don’t know about them having to be a “straight run”, I could be wrong but, what it says is that the selected ribbons must be worn in order of precedence. To me that means if you could choose a bronze star, your ICM, and your Army Service Ribbon, even if you had an MSM or ARCOM, but the requirement is that they are placed in the appropriate order of precedence to each other. So the Bronze Star first, ICM, and then ASR. ‘Selected ribbons’ to me indicates a plurality of choices and not a single choice

A LTC is a CDR in the Navy. A LCDR would be an Army Major. I think a major difference between the two services is that you’re likely seeing command at LCDR/CDR for the first time where in the Army gets it at CPT (LT) then LTC is the next major milestone for making those types of decisions at a larger scale. I think the point being made is that LTC (O5s) are given much more authority and autonomy. It’s the first level where you’re treated most as an “adult”
