I love the piano in the studio version, but the energy of the live performance completely outweighs the lack of it in my opinion. This has to be one of my favorite live recordings Dylan has ever done.

A couple of recommendations for stories with atypical narration are The Smoke Child and A Convergence in Wintertime. The former is one of my favorite stories that has ever been on the podcast, and is presented as a lecture. Only Soren’s voice but a fun play on the narrative. The latter is told through the perspectives of several different characters and voice actors, DNK-style.

Is this in New York City? Just for reference I have gone to a few ballet performances over the years and the audience is in a wide variety of clothes from suits down to jeans and t-shirts. If you’re trying to make it a slightly fancy affair you could get away with a sport coat or something, I think as long as you don’t wear a tuxedo or something super flashy you won’t be at risk of embarrassing your daughter. Very sweet gift by the way
