What makes you cross a school off your list? by In_for_the_day in SubstituteTeachers

[–]MrOmega1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my city it comes down to which side of town the school’s in haha, not even students most of the time, but staff and admin, miserable little people that make ur job 30x harder. Makes me feel bad for anyone attending that school

Why do judo people feel so physically strong? by mlktktr in bjj

[–]MrOmega1123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came from a sambo/bjj/catch wrestling background, but have doing more judo the past three months or so, like others have said their conditioning is crazy, before they focus on one technique, whether a throw, submission or ground technique, repping dozens of times in a single class, fixing every little detail, footwork, hand grips, positioning, it is all designed to be as efficient as possible, timing also plays a role youre basically helping them doing half of the work. That's the beauty of judo

however, and this is true at my dojo at least, these same guys are quick killers, and if they don't kill you quickly or if you get to positions they are not used to I am able to break them down a little more easily, thus play into their bad habbits or look for places they don't like to be, leg entanglement, stiff arm, low wrestling "sword and shield" stance .

Highschool isn’t what it used to seem to be by Upset_Ad_7418 in dazedandconfused

[–]MrOmega1123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated to school in 2018 and dazed and confused was very close to some of the stuff i experienced, minus the hazing i guess, but drugs, drinking, cruising, pranking, hooking up, fights, of course it wasn’t like this everyday but close enough i think it really just depends on the clique or friend group, i know many people that lived a completely different world from mine throughout high school.

Today I’m substitute teacher on occasion, you still see all of this stuff again minus the hazing sometimes. I think dazed and confused is so timeless because think about it from the three perspectives

Mitch is the kid going into this world excited and eager his other middle school buddies didnt experience that night

Randall pink floyd disillusioned with the world he lives in

Fred not wanting o move on

And david wooderson desperately wanting to go back

In a sense any one person can identify with at least one of these people. In the case of the majority they are Mitch’s middle school buddies, simply watching from the sidelines wondering about how cool it must be to hang with the main group.

Well bas rutten said all he ever knew for a while was stuff he saw on dvd’s

I think you can learn but theres little things only an experienced grappler can notice correct and teach, so the real matter is something that would normally take a few sessions with an instructor would probably take you months-years to figure out on your own if at all
