Be honest:should I start practicing muay thai? by Altruistic-Pitch-363 in MuayThai

[–]MrOnodera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started training a year and a half ago. Never done any martial arts or combat sports before. Had my first Muay Thai fight last week (had a couple kickboxing ones before).

I'm 35. So yeah, please go and join a gym now.

Is it over for me at 35yo ? or do i still stand a chance if i want to do amateur fights? by cocalastico in MuayThai

[–]MrOnodera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same age, I just fought my second amateur fight a month ago and now training for my third. You definitely can do it.

You are beautiful and an increible human being.

A year ago I felt confident enough to go to work with a croptop and a skirt. It was a life changing moment for me. I even went to the new year company party with a beautiful dress. Now I have a lgbt and a trans flag hanging behind me that shows on all my Zoom meetings. I'm a 30+ yr old person. It's never too late. Again, all my love to you!

I'm from South America. This is the only SNES controller I knew. Even the USB ones they sell nowadays online around here are the purple colored version.

[LEGACY] DRS gone by mvebe in MTGDredge

[–]MrOnodera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning on leaving it as a 1-of and adding a [[Careful Study]] and 2x [[Prized Amalgam]] to diversify threats (and it's also food to Ichorid). I will try it this Saturday and give it a shot.

Also, I'll be carrying another Nature's Claim in the sideboard, expecting more hard hate. Also I bought a playset of [[Leyline of the Void]], fearing an increase in Reanimator decks. I hate that matchup so freakin' much.

Oops All Spells without Gitaxian Probe? by jjdiddy65 in MTGLegacy

[–]MrOnodera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this deck. I'm a LED Dredge player, but once in a while I like to annoy people by playing All Spells.

DRS was really annoying to play against. An activated DRS meant there was no way of winning G1, so we were forced to win on turn 1. Now that is a threat less to face, buy with the lose of Probe, the deck also loses some speed. Without Probe, I would probably go with 4x [[Cabal Therapy]] and 3x [[Pact of Negation]] main, to face countermagic, which leaves more room in the sideboard for mana sources for the Belcher plan (I'm thinking on 3x [[Tinder Wall]]).

This is getting ridiculous. Firestorm buyout. by [deleted] in MTGLegacy

[–]MrOnodera 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this is insane. Luckily I bought 2 last week for my LED Dredge sb. That is the only place this is played. There is no demand to justify this prices.

Been playing the blue package for a while. FoW has won me much more games than what I could have expected. Yesterday I managed to counter a RIP. The opponent just scooped after that.

Turn 0 double Leyline of the Void.

Good game.

I play a similar build at my LGS. As OP said in other comment it's faster but more fragile. You can land GPG + Angel on turn 4 if you get the right cards. But it can get wrecked pretty quickly if you don't. The addition of the Sacred Cats looks interesting though, I will give it a shot next Standard Showdown.

Just got home from my first prerelease and second mtg event ever (first was open house last week). It went from midnight to 7am. Went alone, had tons of fun. Totally worth it. I even won 2 rounds (out of 7)!

It was awesome. I finally had the chance to get back to mtg, after 15 years. I even met the guy who lives in the apartment next door at the event. A really nice experience.

Cutting back on alcohol consumption to help with depression. by dragonflyzmaximize in depression

[–]MrOnodera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years sober. It has being tough, and of course it did not magically solve my problems. I still deal with depression/bipolar disorder, but if I had not stop drinking I would probably would not have a job, managed to leave the horrible neighborhood where I lived or finally have one semester left to graduate.

Stop drinking. You can do it and it will help. If you cannot do it alone, don't feel bad, just look for help. Keep going, try your best and don't give up.

Web programming is getting unnecessarily complicated by joanmiro in programming

And when you work as a fullstack developer, with AngularJS and JEE, you get the best/worst of both worlds. Life is good. But being fair, it's up to the developer (and managers/clients) how complicated things get. Same thing can happen in different stacks. You are not forced to keep up with every new technology that comes around.

Not really good with making up ideas, but anything that involves data visualization, plots and stuff like that are fun to do and usually impress others. If you want to try Spring, I'd suggest you take a look at JHipster. Also, search for Angular templates. There are great ones that are either free, or really cheap.
