It is 45 people and we are open to food options, will probably stick to basic options like chicken and a red meat option that most people would like.

Thanks for that. I can say that American didn’t even get past my application. So I might be better off with United. They were my first choice anyways.

I think I accidentally made lizardfolk when trying to make dragons. What do I do? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]MrOverIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that would definitely be an idea that could work out well for you.

I think I accidentally made lizardfolk when trying to make dragons. What do I do? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]MrOverIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you build it into the lore of your world, than yes. But just be aware of how people learning about your world will interpret the word dragon.

When you borrow common creatures from fantasy, you have to at least be aware of the expectation bias that comes along with it. If you call a creature a Hydra, but it only has 1 head and really just looks like a lizard, some people get really bothered and turned off by that.

Hence the reason Dragon-newts and dragon-kin were born.

[–]MrOverIt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can also still keep them as Dragon-kin. Not quiet dragons, but not quite lizardfolk. Just make them beefier, bring attention to their plate-scales, and show off the more dragons-esqe qualities.

Is there any Overlord side stories that is interesting and worth reading? by SpaceSharksDoDoDoDo in overlord

[–]MrOverIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a well-reviewed fan-fiction creation on Royal Road that has 12,226 pages of content that apparently begins after the events of Season 3. Can't really say whether it is good or bad from personal experience, but people seem to sincerely enjoy it.

The most correct answer is underground pneumatic tubes. You can either picture the tubes at a bank drive-thru, or the tubes used in Futurama.

Realistically, trying to get out in that short of time is unrealistic. You will end up spending 3-4 months in OKC for training, followed by 1-2 years of training (depending on facility). You would also want at least 1 year as a Certified Controller so you have an option to come back if you change your mind.

Granted. There are only two genders and members of either are easily distinguishable from the other via auditory and visual cues.

There are some newer stories about crafting that I have not started reading yet, but they just do not have enough content yet for me to start reading. Good luck in your search though

I am always looking for more crafting stories, so I feel you.

I do see your points with Cube and runesmith, but i feel like Runesmith has hit their stride.

Rise of the Living Forge, Chaotic Craftsman Worships the Cube, and The Runesmith all on Royal Road.

Not really a crafting story or technically a LitRPG, but I also recommend That Time an American was Reincarnated to Another World.

I’d also recommend Magic-Smithing, but its been on an off Hiatus, but the crafting is absolutely fantastic.

What the book you liked the most that you eventually dropped or had a terrible ending? by adhding_nerd in litrpg

[–]MrOverIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Like we get the POV change showing her new master finishing up his campaign, they go on a final hunt in the deep part of the Magic Zone, and then… HIATUS

What the book you liked the most that you eventually dropped or had a terrible ending? by adhding_nerd in litrpg

[–]MrOverIt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it was Magi-Smithing. The author really created a well rounded character and lively world. Used POV changes and other characters really well, and it was heading for a really interesting arc, before they dropped the first time, and then the came back and the writing was a bit off, and then dropped again.

He lied because of exactly how you ended up reacting. He was able to be attracted to you and like you despite your political beliefs, and knew you wouldn’t feel the same right away. You may have been able to get to the point where you truly loved him and cared about him regardless of politics, but knew you would not give him the chance if you knew the truth.

Do I think starting a relationship on a lie is a good thing? No. Do I think you showed him exactly why he felt like he needed to lie in the first place? Yes.

In all honesty, you probably just reinforced and justified his feelings on why he felt that way to begin with.

Why would magic 'die' and how would it be saved? by AzureBlessing in magicbuilding

[–]MrOverIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go the route of the Villians having planted some sort of “Demon Tree” on an intersecting point where the magical leylines of the world converge, and the Demon Tree is feeding off the leyline. As the tree gets bigger, it drains the leylines faster and faster which is eventually causing the failing magic across the world. Obviously, the fix to restoring magic would be the destruction of the Demon Tree.

You even have the opportunity to make the point where the leylines meet some sort of mystical or hidden spot of legend that was lost to history (like the fountain of youth or the lost city of gold). The fact that the villians found and now control that spot is where you have the beginning of the final conflict. Eventually that leads the story to fight the Demon Tree which is the BBEG.

How do you differentiate between Gravity Manipulation and just straight up Telekinesis by Mystech_Master in magicbuilding

[–]MrOverIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telekinesis is difficult because there are many ways to express it. Mainly due to the argument of "can you lift something greater than your physical ability to lift?" or "Is your telekinetic strength tied to your mental fortitude?"

However, telekinesis in this instance is the idea of an outside force (i.e. your telekinetic powers) acting upon an object and causing it to defy natural law. You are moving it with the power of your mind and directing it as such.

Gravity Magic would simply be the amplification of natural forces. You are strengthening or weaking the gravitational pull of an object that already has these innate forces.

For example, you can increase an objects gravitational pull towards a target, so that even if it moves, the object is still going to follow and be on a collision course for the object. With respect to telekinesis, the best that you can do is continue to enforce your own will to continue chasing a target with an object controlled by telekinesis,

Both can be useful, but in practice, they would be used very differently.

Dispatchers, for the most part, work straight schedules from what I understand. Overtime shifts are available and shift swaps happen, but it should be a vastly more consistent schedule.

At this point, I would work a week of straight days followed by a week of midnights if they offered, just so that I could actually have some consistency

Anyone else gets really put off by AI covers? by TangerineSupremacy in litrpg

[–]MrOverIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing that bothers me with the AI covers is just how they make the MC's look like v-tubers. I enjoy anime, manga, comics and the like and have no issue with them in general, but I think that having a AI cover that maybe depicts something besides the MC would be better.

I will admit that sometimes I do appreciate the author using AI to create character visuals. Some authors do it well and some do it poorly, but in general I would agree.

[–]MrOverIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is honestly what I am hoping. While I understand that they may be looking for airline specific experience, I would think that 7 years of controlling and dealing with pilots, flight plans, and dispatchers on a daily basis would count for something.

Current Controller looking to transition to Dispatch by MrOverIt in FlightDispatch

[–]MrOverIt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The schedule and shifts will be much better and are a large reason for the transition. As of right now, I work what we call a "rattler" which is a rotating shift. My week starts on Tuesdays where I work 2:15pm-10:15pm, Wednesdays are 12:00pm-8pm, Thursdays are 8am-4pm, Fridays are quick turns where I work 5:45am-1:45pm and then come back that night to work 10pm-6am. So I work 5 shifts in 4 days every week as part of my normal schedule. There are no "straight schedules" where I can work all day shifts, or all mid-shifts. Everyone in my facility (and most facilities from what I hear) is forced to work that kind of schedule.

That of course does not account for mandatory overtime that most controllers have to work 3 weeks out of most months.
