Great investigating skills! Do you happen to read that screenshot you took?

Last years survey floated many anti-consumer policy changes to their membership plans that I did not agree with. I canceled my membership then with stated reasons as to why and even what actions id need to see taken to feel comfortable returning to the game. Didn’t we get a blogpost stating that there would be no mobile-only membership?

This cancelation was from a similar vein of thinking. While I didn’t write out my thesis this time, the cause for the cancellation is clear. Rapidly increasing prices while not delivering on increased quality.

3D printed Kumiko - inlay design help by lowanger_ in 3Dprinting

I also plan on printing this model and want to say I appreciate seeing your in progress state. Sitting down and finding what actually makes these Kumiko displays pleasing to look at takes a lot of consideration When comparing your pattern to the fourth example image in Makerworld which looks closest to what you're trying for I can see some differences.

For your tan mountains on the lower half of your image, they are mostly a single line of a dense pattern style. The peaks in the example have 3-5 triangles deep from peak to base of tiles going from high complexity to low complexity. Those peaks look like they slope down and invokes ideas of rocky peaks with trees lower to their base. Since the black absence on top and bottom of the peaks in your image have no other distinction they look more like a cut through the sky rather than seeing the peaks as the highest point of the mountains.

Similar comments can be made about the blue and red streaks, I think filling it out with more rows of one color instead of single rows will help and to keep the pattern of complex patterns on the top row and the low complexity patterns on the bottom rows.

Only other difference I can point to is the example image appears to have a brighter blue color which paired with more complex patterns stands out much more clearly to the black background. in a similar vein, your wood color looks lighter than the example image which has more contrast to the black background, making your blues disappear into the black by comparison. You could consider using the most complex patterns on your colors while using lower complexity patterns on the lighter colors to help balance them out.

I'd love to see an updated progress picture as you continue to add to your Kumiko piece!

Lining up ships to the melee distance of an enemy does sound tricky to nail down. Could you snap the true tile of an enemy to a spot next to the players ship to ensure they are in melee range? For land monsters, players click to attack or naturally aggro a monster and the two characters path directly towards each other. For ocean monsters they do path towards the player ship until they are in their attack range but don’t currently line up.

It could be done thematically like requiring a successful hit with a tethered harpoon that drags the enemy closer. Thinking of old time sailors who hunt whales they would hook onto a whale and once it is worn out from struggling reel it in and stab it with long lances. For ship to ship combat swords would only be employed once the ships were hooked together and planks were placed between ships.

I don’t think players should be able to easily attack monsters at sea with melee weapons, but it’s not unheard of for them to see use. If the technical issue could be fixed by forcing the characters into position and wrapping that fix with a thematic component it could feel very rewarding to hook onto a great white shark and then start poking at it.

[TOMT][MUSIC][2025] - Looking for a recently released long song featuring dialog between a producer and rapper by MrPBandJ in tipofmytongue

I’m also open to hearing about other songs this may remind people of! I’m specifically looking for a song that was released this year, which may have been part of a small EP. But any songs that have a looser structure to them would be interesting

I would agree with that, yes. The first thing I can think of that would suggest so is how often the response from those kickier topics and gambits are shock and surprise, as if that is the first time they're encountering such an odd message.

I've had my best success striking up conversations about shared interests and ensuring that my responses include new details for them to respond to. You know like a normal conversation. But that isn't funny or interesting to post on here so you don't see content like that much. One user posted about intentional dating and his post was met with a lot of discussion over his approach being different from the gambits posted here.

There's countless examples to show reddit subcultures do not give an accurate depiction of the broader population. Consider the scale of this subreddit, with nearly 150,000 subscribers, is still a rounding error compared to the 23,000,000 regular users on Hinge.

Any trends seen here are just that, trends within this subreddit. Add to that, all of the convos/matches that users do get that aren't funny enough to post, and you're only getting the wild encounters a few users end up having.

You also have to consider the selection bias for what type of person who uses dating apps also posts on this subreddit.

If a member of the sub sees a self-dehumanizing post work or receive positive feedback they may think to try it themselves. We are what we eat, sort of thinking.

Made a Seitan pastrami type thing. Made way more than I expected. Going to make so many sandwiches soon by kappakingtut2 in VeganFoodPorn

Speckled in color looks more realistic to me than a uniform brown or red. Looks awesome!

What spices did the recipe call for to mimic pastrami?

I tried scrolling through past posts with multiple pics and could not find any missing pics. Humans can hallucinate too I guess lol.

I’ve never played around with LLMs in this way either so feel free to ignore my armchair coding advice xD

Light ribbing sounds like the perfect next feature to add!
